Following my unexpected episode where I was overwhelmed with emotions last time, I’ve decided to work on honing my acting skills to deliver a convincing performance. With each passing day, the premiere of Tokyo Blade edges ever closer…

In this week’s episode of “Oshi no Ko“, we delve into the diverse reasons driving the actors involved in the upcoming “Tokyo Blade” stage play. The dynamic between Akane, Kana, and their rivalry forms a significant focus, but Aqua and Melt also grapple with their acting skills (or lack thereof). As the curtain rises for the next episode on the play, we’ll soon discover if their hard work will lead to success or not.

Akane’s Resolve

Everyone’s Reason To Pursue Acting

“Regardless of whether your actions are good or bad, I find it necessary to embrace you for who you are.”

At Gotanda’s residence, both Aqua and Akane share an evening meal. Interestingly, Akane assists in the preparation of the meal. Aqua, having recently mellowed, permits Akane to view his old acting videos, a topic he once found touchy. Gotanda shares that Aqua has long struggled with his acting approach, despite finding it unique and gifted. Intrigued, Akane engages Aqua in conversation regarding his motivations for pursuing acting. Aqua hesitantly evades the question before posing an unexpected query to Akane: what would she do if he confessed he was using acting as a means to kill someone? Taken aback, Akane expresses her unwavering support and offers help, stunning him. She clarifies that she genuinely intends to assist him in his acting endeavors, even if it’s just for show, and requests his aid in surpassing Kana and Himekawa. Consequently, they ask Gotanda for guidance on overcoming Aqua’s acting issues.

A short while passes, and Ruby and Minami make their way to Lala Lai studio to check on Aqua. Upon arrival, they encounter Melt who informs them that Aqua and Akane have already left their rehearsal, a fact that perplexes Ruby as Aqua has been arriving home late lately. In reality, the duo are working diligently to help Aqua cope with his trauma. As Minami ponders if Aqua and Akane might be hiding something, an agitated Ruby expresses her disdain for Aqua, declaring that she would despise him forever if he were to do such a thing.

For a brief spell, Ruby steps out to attend to personal matters, giving Minami some solitude. Sakuya Kamoshida then approaches Minami, trying to flirt with her, yet Melt interferes and devises a reason to take Sakuya aside. Melt warns Sakuya about causing mischief, but his warning is met with resistance from Sakuya, who criticizes Melt for attempting to reprimand him when he himself is the most inept actor in the production. This criticism hurts Melt, and he remains silent because he acknowledges his own lack of skill.

Kurokawa Versus Arima

The Battle Of Two Geniuses

Oshi no Ko Season 2: Heated Rivalries

As a seasoned gamer, I’ve been watching these two perform since they were kids, and let me tell you, they’re both top-notch. Pitting one against the other feels like an unfair comparison – it’s just not right.

During their latest rehearsal, Akane fires off some sharp comments at Kana. Kana appears unfazed by Akane’s barbs before casually whipping out a magazine from her bag. The magazine contains an interview with Akane from her childhood, and in it, Kana reveals that she was the actress who inspired Akane to pursue acting. This revelation leaves Akane mortified. Akane acknowledges that she once admired Kana, but meeting her in person has squashed any remaining admiration she had. Kana then goads Akane (with Akane returning some jabs) until Aqua and Melt are forced to separate them.

In my gaming world, I (Aqua) ask Akane why she’s been so tough on Kana, to which she responds that it’s due to Kana’s less-than-friendly demeanor, a trait I find hard to argue against. Meanwhile, Kana argues that her acting approach clashes with Akane’s and that her portrayal often comes off as if her interpretation is the only valid one. As we rehearse using our stage props for the play, Melt queries Himekawa about who’s the better actor between Kana and Akane. Himekawa hesitates to compare them, but admits that while Akane is incredibly talented, Kana is deeply passionate about acting. He predicts that if he’s in her corner, Kana will shine brighter than anyone else.

The Day Of The Premiere

The First Showing

Oshi no Ko Season 2: Heated Rivalries

“Well, you’ll manage somehow, right? After all, you’re a full-fledged actor.”

The long-awaited debut of the stage play finally arrives, drawing a crowd that includes Abiko and Kichijoji, Miyako and Ruby, Mem-cho and other cast members from LoveNow, as well as director Gotanda, who frets over whether Aqua can conquer his problems. Meanwhile, Akane and Kana, both dressed as Princess Saya and Tsurugi respectively, cross paths backstage. Kana vows to erase her past label as a child prodigy, and despite their past clashes, she’s excited to act alongside Akane once more.

Meanwhile, Aqua still hasn’t really gotten over his trauma. He still goes into convulsions just from looking at Ai’s face. Even so, he plans to use this to his advantage, even if it almost causes him to have a panic attack again. As Aqua resolves to once again do whatever it takes to make his acting work, the Tokyo Blade stage play begins.
