In the summer version of PlayStation State of Play, they’ve disclosed the launch dates for eagerly awaited games, shown remastered versions of long-desired JRPGs that we’ve been anticipating, and introduced sequels we’ve been yearning for a while now.
Regrettably, despite receiving generally favorable reviews and even winning an award for Rollerdrome, it was removed from all digital platforms in February. This wasn’t because the game wasn’t successful, as it had sold over a million copies by March 2024. Instead, it appears to be linked to the closure of Roll7, the studio behind the game, and the change in ownership of its original publisher.
On September 6, 2024, the game titled Astro Bot was unveiled, offering a platforming adventure that captured the hearts of numerous PlayStation enthusiasts. The numerous accolades it received underscored the affection most players had for the various elements of the game, particularly the innovative abilities bestowed upon its main character. These abilities frequently involved robotic animal sidekicks and took advantage of the DualSense controller’s unique features. After a highly successful debut, Team Asobi has since added multiple sets of extra levels for players to explore, some incorporating time trials.

The game’s success was largely due to its innovative control systems and gruesome finishing moves called Fatalities. However, the graphic depiction of violence and gore in Mortal Kombat was groundbreaking yet controversial when it first emerged, ultimately leading to the development of the ESRB rating system.
