For 2025, some of the games included on the first day with PlayStation Plus membership have been highly praised titles such as the critically-acclaimed puzzle game “Blue Prince” and more recently, the cooperative survival game “Abiotic Factor”. Although it’s not guaranteed that these ‘day one Extra’ games will become a monthly event, the service has been quite consistent in offering them. Following “FBC: Firebreak” in June, we had “Abiotic Factor” in July, and now, “Sword of the Sea” is scheduled to join the service in August.

The highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed action-adventure game “Death Stranding,” which was nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2019, was released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on June 26th. Known as “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach,” it has garnered significant recognition, boasting a perfect 100% rating from players on OpenCritic, and even surpassed “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” as the highest-rated game on the PlayStation Store in early July.

In the first glimpse of the upcoming game, Battlefield 6, gamers got a sneak peek at the intense infantry battles and airborne skirmishes they can anticipate from this eagerly awaited title. The narrative follows NATO’s confrontations with Pax Armata, a formidable military faction, whose aggression has been felt across significant global locations, such as New York City. Players are assigned to counter the threat in various missions. Additionally, Battlefield 6 seems to emphasize urban combat and destruction aspects, similar to some of the best-loved installments in the Battlefield franchise. Although EA hasn’t officially disclosed multiplayer footage yet, leaks over the past few months have given fans a tantalizing taste of what lies ahead.

A remastered version of Final Fantasy 3 on Steam, as well as the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, serve as excellent examples. They share similarities in their class systems and straightforward narratives, making them less complex compared to other popular JRPGs. In the past few years, both Marvel and DC have faced challenges in appealing to their audiences. However, the upcoming releases of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” for Marvel Studios and “Superman” by DC are seen as a comeback for these comic book giants. Notably, “Superman” marks the commencement of a new multimedia franchise called the DC Universe from Warner Bros., while “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is the opening act in Marvel Studios’ Phase Six lineup of movies and TV shows. Although technically speaking, the DC Universe started with last year’s “Creature Commandos,” and the MCU has already produced two films this year—”Captain America: Brave New World” and “Thunderbolts”—that received mixed reactions at the box office, both “Superman” and “First Steps” have been positively received by critics. Preliminary box office data suggests that the new “Fantastic Four” film is doing well, much like “Superman” has thus far.

In the thrilling world of One Piece, an abundance of formidable characters abound. In each storyline, Oda brings forth new figures boasting exceptional powers capable of devastating entire urban landscapes. Given the intense rivalry among these characters, it’s quite challenging to shine. However, the legendary trio from the Straw Hat Pirates – the Monster Trio – have managed to outshine many with their impressive accomplishments, setting them apart from the competition.

In addition to the numerous changes being made to the traditional structure of the franchise, Borderlands 4 introduces a fresh set of four characters for players to select: Rafa the Exo-Soldier, Vex the Dark Siren, Harlowe the Gravitar, and Amon the Forge Knight. Gearbox has started to share some information about the playable cast in Borderlands 4, with an earlier trailer highlighting Vex’s gameplay. Now, the second Vault Hunter from Borderlands 4 is being spotlighted through a separate gameplay demonstration.
