However, as the medium evolved over time, this once prevalent genre started to recede into obscurity. Yet, when it comes to less mainstream types of video games, indie developers always manage to create something that caters to a specific audience. Phoenix Springs is a contemporary example of a point-and-click game, boasting a clever twist.

On Saturday, following the conclusion of season 7, a sneak peek was unveiled on the TOHO Animation YouTube channel, hinting that the eighth and concluding season of “My Hero Academia” is planned to air in 2025. This teaser emerged after an official announcement confirmed not only the series’ eighth season but also the team responsible for its production.

Avowed, developed by renowned studio Obsidian Entertainment (now under Microsoft’s ownership since 2018), is their inaugural AAA project. This game is set within the universe of the popular franchise, Pillars of Eternity, whose first installment was a critically acclaimed CRPG from 2015. Unlike its predecessor, Avowed uses a predominantly first-person view in gameplay rather than an isometric one, resembling games such as The Outer Worlds and Fallout: New Vegas. Originally scheduled for release in 2024, the game has now been postponed to February 18, 2025, debuting on Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC. As a result, it will be one of Microsoft’s highly anticipated exclusives in the near future.

The ‘survival genre’ may not appeal to all gamers due to its need for considerable patience, farming resources diligently, and managing them effectively to avoid hunger, thirst, and potential dangers like hostile individuals, monsters, or wild animals. In many survival games, players engage in interactions with other characters to barter valuable goods or converse, helping to keep their mental health in check.

Fans who have played earlier Atlus games will find the challenge level in Metaphor: ReFantazio familiar, as its mechanics closely resemble games such as Persona, although it features a fresh visual style.
