It’s not common to find a truly vibrant, enjoyable, and non-Nintendo game in stores, especially for PlayStation. In my opinion, the “Sonic the Hedgehog” films rank among the finest translations of video games onto the silver screen. A significant factor contributing to their popularity is the original material they are based on. To be honest, there aren’t many video game characters as delightfully enjoyable as Sonic the Hedgehog throughout the history of this medium. It seems that the games have a knack for selling themselves more through the character rather than the gameplay. One memorable characteristic of Sonic is his affection for chili dogs, which feels distinctly 90s in origin. The movies preserve this quirk as an endearing reference to Sonic’s appearances outside of the games and the well-known Trademark Favorite Food trope.
