For a long time, it felt like developers just saw Spider-Man as another license to slap on a game, without really getting what makes him special. Thankfully, other developers *did* put in the effort to capture what makes Spider-Man, well, Spider-Man. These Spider-Man games are some of the best (and weirdest) examples, and they all have a place in gaming culture in 2025.
Almost all Boons in Hades 2 have four different rarities – Common, Rare, Epic, and Heroic – and can be upgraded during a run to increase their power. Unlike many other Final Fantasy titles, Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles lets you decide if you want to add certain characters to your team, and you can dismiss them whenever you like. You can also hire standard characters from Warriors’ Guilds to fill out your party, and you’ll fight alongside special guest characters during different parts of the story.
The Sidewinder is a pretty good Rocket Launcher that essentially lets you fire two rockets at once. When you fire the Sidewinder, the first rocket launches forward, and when it explodes, a second rocket is released to target another enemy. It’s not a bad weapon, but it’s a little disappointing that it’s only available through a Pre-Order bonus and a DLC Pack. Plus, there’s no reliable way to specifically farm for it, making it somewhat underwhelming and easily skipped over.
