It’s understandable that there was some surprise, considering how deeply associated and well-known Xbox’s green theme has become since the original console launched in 2001. Over the years, this bright shade of green has been a consistent visual element for Microsoft’s gaming brand, appearing on logos, marketing materials, store displays, and even among dedicated fans who use the phrase “Bleed Green”. Therefore, spotting the Xbox logo displayed in a lighter sky blue, which is similar to Sony’s PlayStation color scheme, at a retailer like Walmart seemed out of sync for both longtime fans and casual observers.
