Released in July 2017, Albion Online is a medieval fantasy MMORPG drawing inspiration from Arthurian legends. Despite sharing a name with the world of the Fable games, it’s a completely separate title. A unique feature of Albion Online is its class system: players don’t pick a class at the start, but can change roles whenever they want simply by equipping different gear. Even after nearly a decade, the game remains popular. SteamDB reports a 24-hour peak of over 12,000 players, which is about half the peak for Final Fantasy 14 but double that of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Microsoft announced strong financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, with revenue reaching $81.3 billion – a 17% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was primarily fueled by its cloud services and artificial intelligence offerings. Microsoft Cloud revenue totaled $51.5 billion, and Azure, its cloud platform, saw a significant 39% increase. Overall, most of Microsoft’s businesses are performing well.

After some initial hints over the past few years, Tomb Raider: Catalyst was fully unveiled at The Game Awards 2025, alongside Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Legacy of Atlantis will be a fresh take on the original Tomb Raider game from 1996, while Tomb Raider: Catalyst will be a brand new story in the series. Legacy of Atlantis is scheduled to release this year, and Catalyst is planned for 2027.

The Straw Hat Grand Fleet is a major power in the world of One Piece. Though recently formed, it has quickly become incredibly strong and influential. According to the author, Oda, the fleet will continue to expand and eventually have a significant impact on the seas. While already powerful, fans believe the Straw Hat Grand Fleet still has the potential to become even stronger.

Christoph Hartmann, a vice president at Amazon Games, is leaving the company after about eight years, according to a report by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg. His next destination and departure date from the Seattle-based company are currently unknown.

Something remarkable about Highguard was how soon it came out after being announced – just over a month passed between reveal and launch. Despite a lot of negative feedback online beforehand, the game still drew in thousands of players. This caused technical difficulties and matchmaking issues, ultimately leading to negative reviews (and partly because it’s a hero shooter).

After announcing Highguard at the Game Awards, the developers went quiet, releasing no new trailers or gameplay footage for over a month, which led to a lot of questions about the game. It surprisingly launched on January 26th as planned, and initial reviews from the press were largely positive. The game quickly attracted almost 100,000 players on Steam, but it was immediately flooded with negative reviews. Currently, Highguard has a ‘Mostly Negative’ rating on Steam, with over 19,000 reviews – a large portion of which are from players who spent less than an hour playing. However, I’m one of the few who’s actually finding the game enjoyable.
