As a movie-loving individual, I find it unfortunate and misguided when certain video games, particularly those in the simulation genre, are labeled as “girly.” This stereotype is not only reductive but also rooted in sexism, and yet, the stigma surrounding simulation and cozy games persists. The fusion of simulation gaming with Disney animation, a creative space renowned for its lineup of successful heroines and princesses, results in the delivery of content that some might dismiss as “girly.”
While I firmly believe anyone can enjoy any game they choose, it’s important to acknowledge that Disney Dreamlight Valley is often viewed through this lens. It’s crucial we challenge these outdated perceptions and encourage everyone to explore the richness and diversity of all video games, regardless of their genre or label.
