The *Onimusha* series was most popular in the early 2000s, with four main games and several spin-offs released between 2001 and 2006. After that, it seemed like Capcom, the publisher and developer, had forgotten about it. However, a remastered version of *Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny* came out in May and excited fans, both old and new. This followed an announcement in 2024 that a new *Onimusha* game is in development and scheduled for release in 2026, signaling a major revival for the series.

Microsoft usually announces which games are leaving its subscription service every two weeks, along with the new games coming to the service. On September 16th, they announced that four games will be removed at the end of the month: *Ninja Gaiden: Sigma*, *Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2*, *Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge*, and *Terra Invicta*.

Any pirate story almost certainly includes Davy Jones, a famous and enigmatic figure from pirate lore. While long considered a legend, the manga *One Piece* recently confirmed that Davy Jones was actually a historical person. For some time, it was debated whether he was a real pirate or simply a myth that grew over the years.

It’s no surprise that Hideo Kojima’s new game, currently known as *Physint*, is generating a lot of excitement among gamers. Very little is known about the game itself, but a recent poster revealed at Kojima’s anniversary event offered a first glimpse. The poster shows a person in technical clothing holding a submachine gun, set in a city or industrial environment, with the tagline “Here Comes the Feeling.” It also confirmed that *Physint* is just a placeholder title and will likely be changed before the game is released. While the poster is visually striking and interesting, it hints at a deeper complexity than it initially appears.

Man, I’ve been waiting for *Pragmata* forever! It was first shown off way back in 2020, and I was so hyped. The game follows Hugh and Diana, these characters with cybernetic upgrades, as they try to break out of a space station overrun with killer robots. It was supposed to come out in 2022, but it kept getting delayed. At one point last year, it looked like the game was cancelled completely! Luckily, they announced earlier this year that it’s *finally* coming in 2026. It’s been a long wait, but I’m still really excited.

The *Battlefield* series became a legendary first-person shooter franchise with the release of *Battlefield 1942* in 2002, and has consistently been a major competitor to *Call of Duty*. However, the series took a significant hit in 2021 with the poor launch of *Battlefield 2042*. While critics gave the game mixed reviews, the *Battlefield* community strongly disliked it, even making it the lowest-rated game on Steam for a time. Players criticized the game for performance problems, the lack of features found in older *Battlefield* titles (like a server browser and scoreboard), and the decision to move away from traditional character classes in favor of specialists.

Originally launched on the Nintendo 3DS in 2014, *Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy* quickly became a fan favorite and was later brought to the Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019. This collection includes the first three *Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney* games – released in 2001, 2002, and 2004 – all with updated graphics and improvements to make gameplay smoother. Now, players on all platforms can expect even more enhancements to be released soon.

Okay, so 2025 had some *seriously* tough game launches, and I’m curious which ones really gave players a headache. I want to know which games were brutal at first, and whether the developers managed to smooth things out with updates. I’m looking for the most challenging console and PC titles from that year – either for those of us who love a real test, or just to commiserate with others who struggled!
