While Cronos: The New Dawn certainly carries its own identity, it also acknowledges and honors some of the genre’s standout titles, notably Dead Space. Developers have acknowledged that Visceral Games’ 2008 masterpiece served as a significant blueprint for many aspects of Cronos’ core design and aesthetic. The influence of Dead Space is palpable in both the presentation and gameplay mechanics of Cronos, making it a noticeable successor. Additionally, Bloober Team could draw inspiration from their Dead Space counterparts by considering an animated adaptation as another way to pay tribute to the original, much like what was done previously with Dead Space.

At launch, there was a surprising shift in opinion, as revealed by a poll conducted by Moxsy, the creator of Borderlands. Over 6,000 votes were cast, and the four new Vault Hunters received almost equal support. Vex and Rafa led with 26% each, while Harlowe wasn’t far behind at 24%. Amon trailed slightly, accounting for 23%. Such a balanced response is quite unusual in this series, as typically one or two Vault Hunters garner the majority of fan excitement.

In the game titled “Cronos: The New Dawn“, players assume the role of The Traveler, a time-traveling representative of an enigmatic organization called The Collective. The Traveler’s mission involves venturing into the past to find particular individuals marked as “Essences.” These Essences could potentially provide solutions for correcting or healing the catastrophe known as The Change that devastated humanity, leading civilization to collapse and be overrun by the corrupted beings called Orphans. Throughout this adventure, The Traveler encounters some Essences during the main storyline and may also discover others along the way. While it initially appears that this is primarily a narrative element, the innovative manner in which these Essences are later incorporated as a game mechanic sets Cronos apart.

A number of highly-played Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games on Steam can be played for free. For instance, there’s “Supervive“, which swiftly amassed a large player base, boasting almost 50,000 concurrent players at its zenith. Notably, the latest addition to the scene, “BAPBAP“, introduces an innovative take on the genre without charging a dime. In other words, fans of free MOBA games now have another option: a new “Dragon Ball” game that looks set to become one of the franchise’s most played titles.

In the world of “One Piece”, the Straw Hat Pirates stand out as the central protagonists. This formidable group possesses an impressive roster of fighters, many of whom have defeated some of the strongest characters within the series. While the Monster Trio often steals the spotlight, there are other crew members who also possess remarkable abilities, with Nico Robin being one such example.

The game Hollow Knight: Silksong is influenced by another style of gaming as well. Games like Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, which started the “Souls-like” genre – third-person action games known for their intricate mechanics – have significantly impacted the conventions and success of Hollow Knight and its sequel.

There are clear similarities, such as the use of a checkpoint system similar to bonfires and the mechanic of running past fallen enemies. However, there are also less overt connections, like the dark and depressing world filled with characters who are gradually losing their sanity.

Although Hollow Knight: Silksong might not have the exact same combat mechanics as other Souls-likes, it still offers a challenging experience, focusing on boss battles that require players to learn attack patterns and dodge effectively using I-frames (after certain upgrades).

However, there’s at least one area where Hollow Knight: Silksong truly shines, not just compared to its predecessors, but also to some of the best games in the Souls-like genre.

To get to the Memorium, players initially need to navigate to Mount Fay. Upon arrival at this location, head towards the mountain’s summit to obtain the Double Jump skill. The ascent to the peak is challenging and demands the use of the Clawline ability. This capability can be found on the eastern side of Underworks.
