GOG has made four classic games from the 1990s available for free download until May 8, 2026. This is part of GOG’s commitment to preserving older games, and they’ve been working with the developers of xLand, a Polish game studio, to update and protect these beloved titles.
Most modern gamers probably haven’t heard of xLand unless they specifically enjoy older DOS games. However, the company is a highly respected Polish developer, known for creating several games that were successful not only in Poland but also in countries like the United States. One of their notable titles, Electro Man (sometimes called Electro Body), is currently available for free on GOG.
GOG Is Giving Away Four Nostalgic Games Right Now

GOG is celebrating the arrival of xLand games with a special promotion running until May 8, 2026. During this time, players can get four games for free: Robbo and its updated version, Adventures of Robbo, plus Heartlight and Electro Man. The first three are beloved classic puzzle games praised for their smart levels and charming retro graphics. Electro Man is an action-packed platformer that still has a dedicated fanbase.
The code for many of these classic games has been available online for a while, but getting them working on today’s computers can be tricky. A fan-made browser version of Electro Man offers a free way to play, but GOG’s current efforts make these games much easier to access and play on modern devices, which is fantastic for fans of 90s gaming.
Both Robbo and Adventures of Robbo refer to the same game. Adventures of Robbo is an improved version released internationally a few years after the initial release of Robbo. Despite being the same game, both titles are currently available as separate purchases on GOG.

Citadel Remonstered is an updated version of the classic Amiga first-person shooter, Citadel, similar to DOOM. The developers at Virtual Design say this ‘Remonstered’ edition has been completely rebuilt for today’s computers, with improved graphics, better-designed levels, and various gameplay enhancements. Meanwhile, MaSzyna is a train simulator where players can operate famous Polish locomotives.

PC gamers have a lot to be excited about right now, especially with the Epic Games Store giving away Hogwarts Legacy until May 3rd. They’re also offering Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure, a free co-op strategy game. On mobile, Epic Games Store users can get Streets of Rage 4 for free until May 7th.
