The moment we’ve all been waiting for-Pipe Network, the “backbone” of the world’s so-called first permissionless full-stack cloud, has officially launched on mainnet. Cue the applause… and the crickets. Yes, it’s true: the token generation event (TGE) for the PIPE token went live, but not without a hiccup: the token price dropped 32% from its initial value. A celebration, indeed.🥳
The Pipe Network team took to X (formerly known as Twitter, because, why not?) to announce the milestone, claiming that PIPE is “earned through real proof-of-work contributions.” The network promises to power decentralized cloud services, covering modules like CDN, Firestarter Storage, and the mysterious “P1” feature still in the pipeline.
$PIPE is officially LIVE!$PIPE is the backbone of the world’s first permissionless full-stack cloud: a decentralized platform built on foundational pillars (CDN, Firestarter Storage, P1 coming soon)
Unlike speculative tokens, $PIPE is earned through real proof-of-work…
– Pipe Network (@pipenetwork) October 8, 2025
PIPE token kicked off with a grand price of $0.30… before plunging to $0.23 just hours later. What a thrilling rollercoaster ride! A swift 31% drop, like someone hit the “exit” button too soon. 🙃

The team tried to reassure the world by explaining that PIPE tokens are “real utility” on the network. Each token supposedly represents tangible activity-like gigabytes of storage or terabytes of bandwidth. Sounds legit, right? So why the price drop?🤔
Users can spend $PIPE to access storage, bandwidth, and compute credits, or even convert SOL to PIPE. Node operators, meanwhile, can earn $PIPE by delivering resources to the network, all while staking tokens to register their points of presence (because who doesn’t love a good stake?)
Now listed on Major Exchanges
The PIPE token is now available for trading on major exchanges including Binance, Gate.io, KuCoin, and Kraken (EU region), with the US support “coming soon.” Because when you’re launching a token, why not keep everyone guessing? 🙄
The team has also outlined how rewards will work for the network’s participants. Node runners who upgrade to the mainnet will earn monthly payouts, while those who ran nodes during the testnet phase will receive “double rewards” for the first 12 months. They’re calling this a “workdrop.” Pretty cute name, right? 😜
Community Criticized Team on Reward Plan
Not everyone is thrilled with the new reward system, though. Some early adopters who helped test the network feel a little… slighted. After all, they spent time and resources running nodes during the Devnet and Testnet phases, only to be told their rewards would be “gradually” doled out through the “workdrop” program. And people aren’t happy about the delay.
One early contributor, Gautamgg, went full detective mode on X, asking, “This is just an excuse not to reward early contributors… In the absence of rewards for early users, how are they going to use the product on the mainnet!!” (Hint: Maybe with some leftover bandwidth from their node-running days?) 🕵️♂️

But fear not, the Pipe Network clarified that early node operators would still receive monthly “double rewards” for their past work. So, hang tight folks, your payout is coming… eventually. 💸
