plain Daredevil: Born Again Episode 4 SPOILER RECAP

This article reveals plot points from Episode 4 of the Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again.” Essentially, the story so far has been a tug-of-war between two characters – Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. Matt is striving to abandon his Daredevil identity, while Fisk, as depicted in Episode 4, seems determined to rescue New York and, in essence, leave behind his Kingpin persona.

In “Sic Semper Systema,” it’s revealed that it’s not straightforward for them to abandon their other personas. Occasionally, these personalities resurface, sometimes for just a brief moment. For instance, Daredevil often reappears, particularly when he confronts corrupt police officers who are after a witness. Essentially, “Sic Semper Systema” implies that both men are struggling to suppress their alter egos.

In this episode of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, we find one of Kingpin’s top advisors out socializing with BB Uhrich and an unidentified companion. It’s evident that the investigative journalist, Daniel, is exploiting this relationship to gather insights about Fisk’s administration. Daniel, being compliant, shares a tale of ambitious plans for improving the city’s waste management system.

That fateful night spent clubbing turns out to be problematic for Daniel, as Uhrich shares a story about his reckless ideas which enrage Fisk severely, hinting at the rage seen in the original Daredevil series that often led to someone’s demise. Surprisingly, Daniel takes responsibility for the leak and offers an apology, fearing he may lose his job. However, instead of firing him, Fisk recognizes a younger version of Wilson Fisk in Daniel and grants him a second chance, suggesting that another mistake could mean more than just termination. This implies that Daniel’s future at the company is precarious if he makes a similar error again.

In this installment of Daredevil: Born Again, another significant plotline involving Wilson Fisk revolves around his marriage counseling sessions with Vanessa. The viewers, for the first time, get insights into the true nature of their relationship as Vanessa confesses to an affair with a man named Adam. Fisk states that he only conversed with Adam, but didn’t take the relationship beyond talk. However, it’s evident that Vanessa suspects there was more to their conversation than just words.

Muse Doing His Work

  • The still technically unnamed villain makes a couple of appearances in Daredevil: Born Again Episode 4.
  • He’s seen walking by his work, carrying a dead or unconscious man.
  • His part in the series appears to be on the cusp of being much bigger.

While Fisk handles the political side of being Mayor, Matt Murdock focuses on representing the underprivileged. At first glance, his new client, Leroy, appears ungrateful and arrogant, prompting Murdock to negotiate a plea deal for him. However, during their conversation, Leroy expresses how absurd it is to be imprisoned for stealing caramel corn. This realization makes Matt understand that the current system or established order is deeply flawed.

In the climactic moment of the fourth installment of “Daredevil: Born Again“, the long-awaited, thrilling comeback of Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, takes place. Despite his appearance being short-lived, it served several purposes. Primarily, it made it clear that he did not kill the White Tiger in the prior episode, and he has no connection whatsoever to the law enforcement officials who persistently use his emblem.

In this episode of Daredevil: Born Again, he offers an explanation to Matt, acknowledging the pain he’s experiencing following Foggy’s demise as natural. He further advises Matt to cease his resistance towards accepting this pain and embrace it. Essentially, his message is for Matt to resume his role as Daredevil.

How Does Daredevil: Born Again Episode 4 End?

Both Men Are Losing The Fight To Their Darkness

Following an exhausting city-managing day, Fisk appears to be preparing for a tranquil meal. Yet, Vanessa is absent, giving the impression he’s dining solo initially. But upon closer inspection, it seems there’s another person in the room – Adam, who appears to have been confined within for some time.

Adam is present, kept securely within such a manner that suggests he’s been confined to this room for an extended period.

In the meantime, Matt spends a romantic evening with Heather but finds himself unable to sleep. Instead of returning straight home, he browses through a line of Daredevil helmets in his closet and fetches his unique batons. Making his way up to the rooftop, he decides to practice with them, hinting at a growing urge to don the costume once more.

Muse Shows Just How Demented He Is

In the final sequences of this “Daredevil: Born Again” episode, we get an even clearer glimpse into one of the most twisted antagonists ever seen in either “Daredevil” series. As he brings the unconscious man along, he deposits him onto a table within his hideout, revealing that the man is still alive.

Overhead, two apparently deceased figures hang from the ceiling. Muse inserts a vacuum tube into his latest target, extracting their blood. As the scene concludes, the man emits a sound of agony or fear, or perhaps a mixture of both.
