How Does Power Work in Planet Coaster 2?
In Planet Coaster 2, it’s essential to place a Power Distributor nearby any new structure or building you construct. This is because most structures require power to operate effectively. To determine the power requirement for a specific building, navigate to its Summary menu. Here, you can find the ‘Power Used’ section that displays the amount of power needed for the structure to function correctly.

How to Connect Power in Planet Coaster 2
In the realm of Planet Coaster 2, linking energy follows a couple of straightforward moves: erecting a Power Utility edifice and interconnecting Power Distributors with Power Hubs. The initial phase is quite intuitive – navigate to your Build Browser, choose the structure you fancy, then place it in an open spot, ideally one that keeps the thrill-seekers at bay.
The area around the Power Utilities building requires no additional Power Distributor.
In this tutorial, we’ll be employing the Planet Coaster 2 Power Generator. Once constructed, click on the building and choose ‘Add Distributor’. This action will automatically pick a Power Distribution Unit for you to position within your park. You’ll observe a substantial grey Area of Effect (AOE) surrounding the Power Distribution Unit, indicating the region it can cover and deliver power to.
In my gaming world, I’ll ensure to set up an unpowered zone in my park. After that, I’ll lay down the underground Power Cables, guiding them to form a loop back to the Power Station. Once I connect the power line to the Power Generator, instantly, the vicinity of the Power Hub will glow bright yellow.
Additionally, while creating Power Lines, you’ll observe small white dots aligned along the path. These are actually power nodes, which serve as points where you can redirect power to other Power Distributors. This allows you to establish complex power distribution networks across your amusement park, all sourced from a single power supply.
Utilize Power Nodes and Distributors to position power sources at a distance from visitor zones, enhancing both safety and aesthetics in your park.
