Pokemon Go Dynamax update coming soon after surprise Niantic leak

As an old-school Pokémon trainer with over two decades of experience, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia seeing those Dynamax and Gigantamax logos pop up in my beloved Pokémon Go app. It’s like a trip down memory lane to the good old days of Gen 8, with Sword and Shield games still fresh in our minds.

Niantic has recently added filters with Dynamax and Gigantamax emblems in Pokémon Go, effectively confirming that these new gameplay features will be available shortly. Previous rumors suggesting their imminent arrival have now been put to rest.

Back in May 2024, leaks emerged about the upcoming Dynamax function and its associated Gigantamax Pokemon for the mobile game. Ever since, fans have been anxiously waiting for any formal updates regarding the new features’ introduction.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been buzzing with excitement ever since those leaks hinted at its upcoming release. But nothing really gets my adrenaline pumping like an official teaser, whether it was intentionally released or accidentally slipped out there. On August 5th, Joe Merrick from Serebii drew our attention to some in-game filters bearing the Dynamax and Gigantamax logos. The anticipation is real!

As a dedicated Pokémon GO fan, I can’t help but wonder what exciting updates are on the horizon! It’s intriguing to see these features live now – Dynamax and Gigantamax modes. Information regarding the integration method and expected release date of the new mechanics in Pokemon Go remains elusive. However, the in-game icons hinting at this feature have definitely stoked excitement among players eagerly waiting for its debut.

On the 5th of August, while I was updating my game, I stumbled upon these interesting filters. Soon enough, other gamers started sharing their findings, confirming they had experienced something similar too, right there within the game’s icons.

In the Pokémon Sword and Shield games from Generation 8, a novel mechanic called Dynamax was introduced. This mechanism allows a Pokémon to undergo a temporary enlargement during battle, boosting its power and enabling it to use unique moves.

In specific Pokémon species, there’s a unique transformation called Gigantamax, which is an extension of Dynamax. This special transformation not only enlarges the Pokémon but also alters its appearance. Iconic Pokémons like Pikachu, Charizard, and Eevee have their own Gigantamax transformations.

It’s uncertain if the visibility of these filters was intended by Niantic or if it happened accidentally, as they haven’t made any official statement about it yet.

As soon as we learn when the Dynamax and Gigantamax functions will launch, we’ll make certain to inform you. Until then, feel free to engage in Raids or test your skills against Team Rocket for some fun.
