A passionate player of Pokemon Pokopia completely transformed the Dojo in the Sparkling Skylands while trying to dig it up. They rebuilt it with beautiful Japanese-style buildings, a large courtyard, and it’s now home to several Fighting-type Pokemon.
The new open-world game in the popular monster-catching series reimagines famous locations from the original Pokemon games with a unique twist. Villages in Pokopia are based on cities from the Kanto region, like a ruined Fuchsia City becoming the Withered Wasteland and Pewter City transforming into Rocky Ridges. Players can even discover crumbling landmarks from Pokemon Red and Blue, such as Pewter City’s Museum and the S.S. Anne. Recently, a fan discovered and completely restored the Dojo in Sparkling Skylands, bringing the Fighting-type Gym back to its former glory.
Pokopia Fan Shares Stunning Dojo Build
A Reddit user named g20richasan shared a video of their amazing Dojo build on the Pokopia subreddit. They originally planned to just dig out the Dojo, but ended up completely renovating it. The creation includes a relaxing courtyard with a zen garden, plus several buildings to house Pokémon like Hitmonchan and Hitmontop. Inside the main building, there’s a sparring area and a training space complete with punching bags, rocks, and the Punching Game Toy. The player even recreated the hanging scrolls from the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City, displaying them in the center of the building.
The creator shared more information about building the Pokopia Dojo in the comments section of their post. It took about a week to build within the game, and the most challenging part was removing the cliff blocks above it. A screenshot shows how the Dojo connects to the rest of Sparkling Skylands, keeping the elevator in place and adding a small path. Several fans pointed out that the design is inspired by a Dojo featured in a video from YouTuber HorribleGaming.
Pokopia is proving to be a fantastic platform for recreating beloved locations from the Pokemon universe. Players have built incredibly detailed versions of iconic spots like Bell Tower from Pokemon Gold and Silver, and even Ash Ketchum’s house. Some dedicated fans have taken things even further, with one person meticulously rebuilding the entire Kanto region from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen within the game’s Palette Town.

Since launching in early March, Pokopia has kept players engaged with a series of in-game events. The first major event, “More Spores for Hoppip,” challenged players to gather Cotton Spores in exchange for special cosmetic items. Recently, Pokopia announced another event, “Bulbasaur’s Jump Rope Contest,” which ran from April 19th to April 26th. Thanks to consistent updates from Omega Force and The Pokemon Company, Pokopia is off to a strong start and continues to build excitement.
