A dedicated player in Pokemon Pokopia recently took on a massive project: completely reshaping the world of Sparkling Skylands. While they put in a lot of effort, they ran into a very rare problem that few Pokemon Pokopia players will ever experience, ultimately hindering their progress.

Sparkling Skylands is the last big area you can play in the popular game Pokemon Pokopia, but it’s the hardest to unlock. To get there, you first need to raise the humidity so Slowpoke can save Onix in the Withered Wasteland. Then, you have to complete all the main quests in Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges. Unlike the other areas in the game, which are based on single cities from the Pokemon world, Sparkling Skylands combines elements of both Saffron City and Celadon City.
Pokemon Pokopia Player Demolishes Sparkling Skylands to the Ground, or Thereabouts
A Reddit user named Professor Yugana tried to completely tear down Sparkling Skylands to make way for a big new construction project. However, they couldn’t finish the job because the last two layers of blocks, right above the clouds, were impossible to break. Professor Yugana didn’t say how long they worked on it, but considering how tall Sparkling Skylands is in Pokemon Pokopia, it likely took many hours.
Professor Yugana stated that despite not being able to clear the whole area, the team was happy with the results. Their main goal was to prepare the ground for building upwards, and as they explained in their report, the two layers of unbreakable material underneath didn’t really impact their work.
Okay, so Professor Yugana just announced they’re completely tearing down Sparkling Skylands, which is… a pretty drastic move. Apparently, a lot of us endgame players were getting totally overwhelmed by how huge it was. I mean, it’s a beautiful area, but seriously, logging in felt like a chore. I saw one post on Reddit back in March where a player said they just wanted to fast travel away as soon as they loaded in – and honestly, I totally get it. It’s a lot to take in, and it sounds like the devs are trying to fix that by starting fresh with the whole area.

There are lots of different locations – from the Pokémon Center to the broken elevator – all in disrepair, and players often struggle to know where to start.
