As a long-time gamer and Star Wars enthusiast, I must say that the addition of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga to the PS Plus Essential lineup for August 2024 is nothing short of exhilarating! With over 160 hours of gameplay, this title offers a perfect blend of nostalgia and new adventures that any Star Wars fan can’t resist.

We’re well into a new month now, and that means PS Plus subscribers have started receiving several fresh additions to their collection, with August 2024 being no exception. The featured games for PS Plus Essential this month include some highly anticipated titles like “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach” and “Ender Lilies,” but the standout title is arguably “LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.” This game offers an estimated 160 hours of gameplay, guiding players through all nine “Star Wars” films using nearly 400 characters for a joyful, laughter-inducing, and action-packed retelling of some of the most iconic science fiction narratives in history.

In August 2024, it seems particularly fitting to include LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in the PS Plus Essential lineup, given that two other eagerly awaited games are due to follow soon. This way, subscribers can get acquainted with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga as they countdown and prepare themselves for these upcoming titles.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Arrived on PS Plus at the Right Time

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s Addition to PS Plus Makes Sense Ahead of Star Wars Outlaws

As August approaches and the highly anticipated “Star Wars Outlaws” by Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment gets closer to release, I can’t help but feel that this is an ideal moment to dive into “LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.” With it being free for PS Plus members until August ends, there’s no better opportunity to explore this galaxy far, far away!

As a die-hard Star Wars fan eagerly anticipating Star Wars Outlaws, it’s important to note that unlike many previous games, we won’t be swinging a lightsaber in this one. Instead, our characters, including the protagonist Kay Vess (who, from what we know so far, is not a Force user), will be armed with a trusty blaster. In fact, if you’ve played LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, you’ll recognize this gameplay style, as it features numerous characters who don’t wield lightsabers. So, for those of us looking forward to the unique gameplay of Star Wars Outlaws, getting familiar with blaster combat could be a wise move!

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on PS Plus Should Prepare Players for LEGO Horizon Adventures

A compelling reason for PS Plus subscribers to grab LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga before it’s gone is the upcoming launch of LEGO Horizon Adventures. This new game offers a humorous, exaggerated take on Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn, complete with the original storyline, hilarious moments, and action-packed scenes that were missing from the first game.

For those who may have drifted away from the LEGO series of video games, they now have a chance to reconnect with its humor in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This could be especially useful for them as they gear up for LEGO Horizon Adventures, assuming it’s on their wish list. Interestingly, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga also serves as a good warm-up for Star Wars Outlaws, if that’s something you’re considering. However, PS Plus subscribers who aren’t interested in LEGO Horizon Adventures or Star Wars Outlaws can still appreciate the addition of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga to PS Plus this month. In fact, when compared to one of July’s more debated PS Plus games, Among Us, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga offers a much broader gaming experience.
