Tectonic is throwing a party called the “Quantum Summit” where they’ll talk about how we need to fix the internet before quantum computers come and ruin everything. Because, you know, that’s the biggest problem we’ve ever faced-figuring out crypto before some theoretical computer breaks it. Groundbreaking.
Quantum computing is advancing, which is great if you’re into sci-fi or have a PhD in physics. But for the rest of us, it means the cryptography holding up the internet and blockchains is now under “long-term pressure.” Translation: someone will probably break it in 2045, and we need to panic now. The transition isn’t a simple algorithm swap? Of course it’s not. Why would it be? It’s a “multidimensional migration effort”-because who doesn’t want to add three extra dimensions to a problem already complex enough?
The Quantum Summit is for developers, cryptographers, and “institutional stakeholders” who want to discuss “practical” ways to prepare for a world where quantum computers exist. Programming includes “post-quantum readiness” (which sounds like a fancy way of saying “pretend you care”), “cryptographic migration planning” (code for “panic”), and “decentralized identity in a quantum age” (because nothing says “trust” like a system that might collapse tomorrow).
“Post-quantum security is no longer theoretical. It is a planning problem,” said Michael Berman, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Tectonic. Because nothing says “planning” like hosting an event in 2026 to solve a problem that might not even matter by then.
“Quantum Summit is how we move from abstract risk to concrete readiness.” Oh, sure, let’s spend two hours in a comedy club debating the “realistic” migration paths while the actual threat is “materializing” somewhere. Real efficient.
Ron Kahat, the other Co-CEO, added: “Post-quantum migration is a multi-dimensional effort; it’s not just replacing algorithms, it’s an operational, strategic, and architectural overhaul.” Wow, they’re not just solving a problem-they’re solving the entire universe. Next, they’ll tell us they’re saving the bees too.
Jay Jog, Co-founder of SEI, emphasized the “operational challenge” ahead:
“The hardest part of moving to PQC isn’t pure cryptography, it’s coordination.” Of course! Because nothing brings people together like telling them their systems might be obsolete in 20 years. Real team-building.
“Security conversations stall when they stay theoretical,” stated Jake Salerno, VP of GTM at Zero Gravity Labs. Because nothing gets people motivated like pretending a hypothetical threat is an emergency.
“The Quantum Summit is about aligning builders and stakeholders on the practical steps to PQC readiness.” Practical steps? Like buying a ticket to a comedy club in 2026 and nodding along?
Other confirmed speakers include leaders from companies with names like “RadPill” and “Hack VC.” Sounds like a group of people who think “quantum” is just a buzzword to slap on a PowerPoint.
The event is supported by “Hack VC, 0g, Halborn, Kite”-a who’s who of companies that probably charge six figures for a cup of coffee. BeInCrypto is the main media partner, so expect at least one article titled “Quantum Summit: The Future of Crypto” by someone who Googled “post-quantum” once.
Registration is at quantumsummit.net. If you have $10 and a death wish.
About Tectonic
Tectonic Labs is “developing defense-grade blockchain infrastructure” using “post-quantum security standards.” Because nothing screams “security” like a company led by ex-engineers from Google, MIT, and Coinbase. Oh, wait-that’s just the baseline for a tech startup now. Originality is overrated.
