The “Realm of Ink” is an impressive roguelike game that draws inspiration from renowned games such as “Hades”. Similar to its counterpart, it shares a comparable setting and incorporates numerous similar gameplay mechanics. However, it manages to stand out in certain aspects. Its progression system may not be as intricate as some players anticipate, but it provides enough rewards to engage you for several hours while maximizing the skill tree.
As a gamer, I’d put it this way: “In this game, there are three main categories of abilities to discover, and each category branches out into four levels. Levels one through three have got three skills apiece, but the final level only offers two for each category. That means there are a total of 33 talents up for grabs for me to unlock!
How to Unlock Talents in Realm of Ink
The resource required to unlock talents in Realm of Ink is called Foxblood, also known as Blood Ink. This resource is fairly common and drops from all enemies in a chamber. You don’t have to pick it up, its counter increases on its own whenever you clear a stage, with the exact number depending on how many enemies you defeated. Bosses drop more Foxblood compared to normal enemies.
To discover hidden abilities, players should engage with the Talent Monolith. This is a substantial stone slab adorned with carvings, located on the left side of the first floor in the central area. By interacting with it, they can access the talent chart, which offers three categories of talents: offensive (Damage), restorative (Healing), and resource management (Resource).
All Talents in Realm of Ink
In this system, there are four distinct levels or stages within the tree, and you can only advance to the next level once you’ve mastered all abilities in the previous one, within the same category. Moreover, there are twelve key skills (one set for each category), which become accessible as you progress through each tier and unlock more talents. Each new unlock grants additional stages or enhancements to these parent talents, boosting their overall impact.
Advancing your talents won’t raise the level of their original abilities; instead, it’s only when you unlock new talents that this occurs.
