Ripple CEO on Gensler’s Replacement: ‘Outstanding Choice’

As a seasoned crypto investor with over a decade of experience navigating the ever-evolving landscape of digital assets, I can’t help but feel a wave of optimism at the prospect of Paul Atkins leading the SEC. Having weathered numerous regulatory storms during my tenure in this space, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of having a pragmatic and pro-crypto voice at the helm.

As a crypto investor, I find myself in agreement with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse when he refers to Paul Atkins as an “excellent pick” for leadership at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). His extensive experience and insight into the financial industry could prove invaluable for navigating the complex landscape of digital assets.

According to U.Today’s report, it was announced on Wednesday that Atkins, the clear frontrunner, has been chosen to head the agency. This pro-cryptocurrency libertarian is said to have accepted the position earlier this week.

Garlinghouse believes that Atkins will be able to bring “common sense” back to the agency.

Such sentiment is universally shared by the broader cryptocurrency industry.

Jake Chervinsky, the legal head at Variant, asserts that it would be extremely challenging to fully convey the substantial change that cryptocurrency could experience if Gary Gensler leads the SEC. He describes this period as a “regulatory singularity” marking the beginning of a new epoch for digital currencies.

Known for his firm opposition towards cryptocurrencies, Gary Gensler – the head of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – has announced his departure from the agency, effective from January 20th.

Hester Peirce, often referred to as “Crypto Mom”, has given her approval for Gensler’s appointment. Known for her supportive views on cryptocurrency, the Republican member of the SEC commission expresses joy at Atkins’ return to the agency. In her words, “I can’t imagine a more suitable candidate for the position, as I have previously worked with him during his tenure.

Cathie Wood, the CEO of Ark Invest, thinks that the new Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) leader may help ease the regulatory grip on digital assets, which has been tight under Gary Gensler’s leadership.

In a recent social media post, Stuart Alderoty, Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer, expressed that the team of Atkins, Peirce, and Uyeda at the SEC will not just reintroduce common sense to the agency, but also ensure genuine investor protection.
