Ripple CEO Warns Kamala Harris Against Anti-Crypto Lawmakers

As a researcher with a background in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, I have closely followed the evolving regulatory landscape surrounding digital assets and the stances taken by various political figures. In particular, I have been intrigued by the recent exchange between Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse and US Vice President Kamala Harris regarding crypto.

Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple Labs, has gently advised Vice President Kamala Harris to be cautious when dealing with legislators and politicians who are hostile towards cryptocurrencies.

The Ripple CEO Counsel To Kamala Harris

In a brief video shared on platform X, US Congressman Brad Sherman referred to Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency in terms of market value, as being comparable to a recently named digital currency called “Skibidi.”

The way Garlinghouse responded indicated his belief that Harris was considering making a mockery of the leading digital asset. In response to this post, Garlinghouse cautioned Harris against aligning herself with individuals who are hostile towards cryptocurrency. It’s worth mentioning that President Biden has endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s nominee for the upcoming elections following his withdrawal from the race.

The CEO of Ripple firmly believes that a candidate’s likelihood of securing votes in the 2024 presidential election is commensurate with their support for cryptocurrencies. Historically, the Democratic Party has held a negative stance towards cryptocurrencies, with President Biden being no exception.

It would be beneficial for Vice President Harris to avoid listening to, and quickly distance herself from, individuals who speak irrationally.

Democrats aren’t attracting crypto supporters by being against cryptocurrencies, which is perceived as a stance against innovation. On the other hand, Republicans are drawing in voters by advocating for and promoting the use of cryptocurrencies.

Caroline Crenshaw, who was recently nominated by Biden for the role of SEC Commissioner once again, is among the individuals with ties to the cryptocurrency industry. A few others, such as Senators Cynthia Lummis and Kirsten Gillibrand, continue to be involved in this sector.

The Ripple CEO, Garlinghouse, holds an unfavorable view towards cryptocurrencies based on the Democratic Party’s stance. In his opinion, distancing herself from this anti-crypto position would increase Harris’ chances of winning the election.

Harris Confuse Crypto Community About Her Crypto Stance

The CEO of Ripple expresses a welcoming attitude towards Kamala Harris and urges others to follow suit. In his viewpoint, it’s crucial to evaluate political candidates based on their proposed policies instead of their political connections. According to Garlinghouse, Harris, having a background in Silicon Valley, holds a distinct chance to readdress significant matters such as cryptocurrency regulation.

Currently, she declined the opportunity to present at the ongoing Bitcoin Conference in Nashville. According to Bitcoin Magazine CEO David Bailey, her absence may prevent a looming crisis. This is because of her role in enacting policies that have jailed crypto developers and forced the industry to relocate abroad.

After Kamala Harris declined his invitation to attend the Bitcoin Conference, Donald Trump changed the debate schedule unexpectedly. Trump had originally agreed to hold two debates with Harris on September 10. But following her decision not to attend the Bitcoin event, Trump reversed course and left many, including crypto enthusiasts, taken aback.
