Ripple CTO Issues Critical AI Tweet

As a seasoned crypto investor with over a decade of experience in the industry, I can’t help but share my thoughts on the recent developments in AI and their implications for the blockchain sector.

David Schwartz, the head of technology at Ripple Labs – a prominent blockchain company based in San Francisco – recently utilized his account on the widely-used X social media platform to express his concerns about the manner in which artificial intelligence (AI) is being deployed by certain online platforms designed for public interaction.

David Schwartz takes jab at AI on Quora

1. Specifically, Schwartz penned a post on X regarding the widely-used question-and-answer platform Quora. Notably, the Ripple CTO has previously voiced criticisms against this site and its use of AI. Some observers speculate that this may not be primarily about AI in this case, but rather a personal grievance held by the Ripple executive.

According to Schwartz, the inquiries posted on this platform are produced by Quora’s AI-driven Prompt Generator. Recently, the Ripple CTO expressed his concern over these AI-generated questions, stating, “This AI-produced Quora query slop managed to bypass manual approval.” The criticized questions centered around the U.S. government and the ongoing political events.

Elon Musk promises to build “most powerful AI in the world” this year

At a recent interview in Gigafactory Texas between Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and Elon Musk, the founder of xAI start-up disclosed some exciting details about the forthcoming enhancements to their AI chatbot offering – Grok 2.0 and Grok 3.0.

Musk has announced that the Grok 2.0 model has completed its training, and currently, the team is conducting tests to identify any bugs and making overall adjustments. The Grok 2.0 iteration is anticipated to rival ChatGPT-4 or come very close. The release of this Grok version is predicted to occur in August.

1) Elon Musk shared updates about the xAI team’s work on the upcoming chatbot, Grok 3.0. Right now, it’s being trained at a data center situated in Memphis, Tennessee. This collaboration involves the X app and Nvidia, who provides H100 processors. He anticipates that the refined version of Grok will be unveiled to the public by December this year following necessary adjustments.

As a researcher, I firmly hold the conviction that Grok 3.0 will outshine the current version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, making it the most advanced AI in existence at that time.
