David Schwartz, the Chief Technology Officer at Ripple, recently used his verified platform on X to discuss the news about Gary Gensler leaving his role as Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Gary Gensler steps down, Ripple CTO reacts
Following his tweet advocating for unity among cryptocurrency enthusiasts instead of continuous attacks, a commentator questioned who the adversary in the crypto world would be now that the former SEC chief has stepped down. The user simply replied, “Gary is gone, we’ve already triumphed.
As a researcher in the field, I’d like to share my perspective on a recent statement. Schwartz implied that if a new adversary to cryptocurrency emerges, we are currently unaware of their identity – “I don’t believe we know who they are at this moment.” However, Schwartz speculated that someone as critical towards crypto as Gensler was during his tenure as SEC chair may not reappear in a similar capacity.
It’s uncertain at the moment if a solution will present itself. There’s a possibility that none might arise, leaving us no choice but to confront each other in order to stave off boredom and maintain success levels.

Ripple CLO celebrates Gensler’s last day in office
On Friday, Stuart Alderoty, Ripple’s chief legal officer, tweeted that Gary Gensler had completed his last full day as the chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
In essence, Alderoty implied on Twitter that as of the following day, it would be fitting to respond ‘Who?’ when anyone brings up the name of the CLO (Chief Legal Officer), suggesting that over time, his contributions to Ripple and the cryptocurrency sector during his four-year tenure will gradually fade from the collective memory of the crypto community.
“I’m gonna miss him.”

On Friday, this tweet was posted, and three hours ago, David Schwartz made a comment on it, quoting the Dr. Peter Venkman character from the 1984 Ghostbusters movie, played by Bill Murray: “I’ll surely miss him.” (or “I’m going to miss him deeply.”)
Schwartz reveals truth about the XRP 2018 ATH
According to U.Today’s report, David Schwartz, Ripple‘s CTO, recently disclosed an intriguing detail about the $3.84 peak reached by the XRP coin in January 2018. He clarified that it wasn’t exactly an all-time high (ATH), despite being commonly referred to as one in various reports.
He shared that the expensive price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in South Korea is due to a phenomenon known as “Kimchi premium,” which involves an extra buying and selling fee being applied to their prices in Korea.
Actually, as Schwartz pointed out, no one actually purchased XRP for $3.84, nor did they receive such an amount when selling it at the time in question.
