Ripple CTO Warns Community Of Scams
A new form of deceitful scheme aimed at X users (previously known as Twitter) has surfaced, exploiting the anxiety around account suspensions to gain unauthorized access to user accounts. A menacing message allegedly originating from the X team was shared via DM by a user named @3YearLetterman.
An examination of the DM (Direct Message) reveals an allegation that the account of user X was under investigation for potential copyright infringements. The message continued by requesting the recipient’s input on this matter via filling out a form.
Despite the link included in the direct message appearing harmless at first glance, it is actually deceitful and intended to coax the X user into disclosing their account information. Consequently, their account could be put at risk. The message is disguised as being from the X Support Team, potentially giving the user a false sense of security and increasing their likelihood of falling for this scam.
As a responsible crypto investor, I would like to share my experience and caution you against falling for suspicious messages, especially those claiming to be from Ripple’s CTO. If you receive a direct message with a link or request for your login information, treat it as a red flag. Rest assured, Schwartz, the Ripple CTO, has not reached out to you personally in this manner. The link likely leads to a phishing site designed to steal your valuable data. Stay vigilant and protect your investments by ignoring such messages.

Crypto Scams Are On The Rise
As a crypto investor, I’ve recently come across a troubling issue that was brought to light by a well-known figure in the crypto community. DaVinci, a member of the Shiba Inu team, issued a warning about the rampant presence of scams in our space. Specifically, they mentioned that scammers have been creating multiple fake versions of the yet-to-be-launched TREAT token to deceive and steal funds from unsuspecting investors. It’s essential for all of us to remain vigilant and double-check any investment opportunities to ensure their authenticity.
The Ripple CTO issued a caution similar to DaVinci’s warning: be wary when dealing with tokens on the ShibaSwap decentralized marketplace. Since it is a decentralized platform, the team cannot prevent trading of these tokens, but they can alert investors and keep them informed.
Last month, Canadian authorities issued a cautionary note to their citizens about the surge in cryptocurrency scams. One prevalent type of these scams is the romance scam, in which con artists persuade victims to put money into a supposed crypto investment platform that turns out to be fraudulent.
