The Crypto Craze 🤯
David Schwartz, the top tech whiz at Ripple, has gone and done something totally bonkers! Apparently, the big cheese himself, the President of the United States, has decided to create a special stash of cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin and Ethereum, but also some other sneaky ones like ADA, XRP, and SOL.
Charles Hoskinson, the mastermind behind Cardano, gave a little nod to both XRP and David Schwartz, saying he thinks XRP is a real corker of technology, and that Schwartz has done a smashing job building and keeping it going.
Ripple CTO’s “survey” for XRP community
David Schwartz decided to put his big brain to good use and tweeted at all his followers on X (which used to be Twitter, but now it’s like a whole new world, eh?) asking for their best arguments for why governments should have a stash of digital assets.
He didn’t really care if it was for a specific digital asset or all of them, he just wanted to hear the best arguments, the ones that would make a grown person say “Hmm, that’s a good point!”
I’m asking because I genuinely don’t know. What do people think are the best arguments in support of any kind of digital asset reserve? They can be for specific assets, all assets, classes of assets. I don’t care. I just want to hear the best arguments for any kind of reserve.

One cheeky commenter suggested that maybe a good argument for a digital asset reserve could be to help make the whole cryptocurrency world look less dodgy in the eyes of the government. Like, “Look, we’re not all shady, we have a fancy reserve now!”
That user then clarified that they meant it as a way to “get back to neutral,” which made David Schwartz say “Actually, that’s a pretty decent argument!”
“Am I dreaming?!” – Ripple CTO on Hoskinson’s XRP tweet
Earlier that day, Peter Schiff, who’s known for being a bit grumpy about anything to do with crypto (except maybe gold), tweeted that he couldn’t understand why anyone would want to add XRP to this government reserve. He was all like, “What’s the point of that?
But Charles Hoskinson, the Cardano king, jumped in and said that he thought XRP was awesome technology, a real global superstar, and had a community that wouldn’t back down from a challenge.
When David Schwartz saw that tweet, he just went “Am I dreaming?!”. It seems Hoskinson had spent some time looking at the code for XRP and he was now a big fan of Schwartz’s work.

Schwartz, in turn, praised Hoskinson’s work on Cardano, especially its focus on keeping things private.
