Lo and behold, the XRP community found itself in a tizzy when Ripple’s own CTO, David Schwartz, played detective and sniffed out a crypto-draining scam with the ease of a man spotting a snake in the grass. 🐍
It commenced on X, where a self-proclaimed ex-Uniswap developer declared he’d unearthed a bug granting 41% profit per swap-like finding a golden goose in a Bitcoin mine. 🦆
To lend credence to this fairy tale, the user dangled a GitHub code snippet. Alas, the CTO, with the sharp eyes of a seasoned prospector, declared it a “crypto drainer” aimed at fleecing fools. “This code’s as useful as a screen door on a submarine,” he quipped, no doubt.
David caught the scammier mid-scam, like a gunslinger in a saloon 👏

“This is an obvious crypto drainer,” Schwartz declared, “with nary a line of code to benefit anyone but the villain behind it.” He then proceeded to GitHub like a sheriff to a jailhouse, filing a report with the precision of a man who’d seen too many “get rich quick” schemes in the digital Wild West.
The XRP crowd, stunned and howling with glee, hailed the move as a masterclass in scam-sniffing. Meanwhile, Schwartz warned of phishing emails masquerading as hardware wallet upgrades-“the siren songs of the crypto sea,” he called them. “Ignore ’em unless you’ve got proof as solid as a goldbrick!”
He further cautioned against entering seed phrases into anything but the hardware wallet itself-“a rule as sacred as Sunday roast,” he insisted. All this comes as XRP holders are urged to safeguard their assets, lest they become the next chapter in a cautionary tale. Self-custody, he noted, is a path best walked with a map and a sixth sense for dodging bandits. 🚨
And so, the digital frontier marches on, with vigilance as its only true compass. Or, as Mark Twain might say: “Buy the rumor, sell the news, but always keep your shotgun handy.” 🔫
