Emi Yoshikawa, Ripple‘s Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Operations, expressed her excitement about a recent XRPL-connected project by Japanese conglomerate SBI Holdings on X social media, referring to it as a significant development.

SBI plans to issue NFTs for the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, utilizing the XRP Ledger as the underlying technology.

At the EXPO, you’ll have the opportunity to obtain NFTs of MYAKU-MYAKU, our beloved mascot, by participating in different tasks. Make sure to stop by and complete these missions. Moreover, if you utilize the EXPO mobile app, you may even earn extra NFTs.

It is worth noting that the event is going to attract 28 million visitors.

According to validator Vet on the XRP Ledger, adding Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to XRPL could significantly boost their exposure and demonstrate the potential of NFTs in real-world applications.

Every five years, World Fairs or Expos are held to showcase scientific, economic, and technological advancements. The most recent event occurred in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in the year 2020. Previously, it was Milan, Italy’s turn in 2015.

The first World’s Fair occurred in London, United Kingdom, as far back as 1851. Since then, these large exhibitions have been governed by the Bureau International des Expositions, based in Paris, which was founded in the late 1920s.
