Ripple Goes on Hiring Spree in U.S.

Approximately three-quarters of the job vacancies at Ripple, led by CEO Brad Garlinghouse, are located within the United States.

Over the past few years, I’ve noticed a significant shift in my investment portfolio. Previously, the enterprise blockchain company I’m invested in primarily recruited talent from overseas. However, this year, it seems they are making a remarkable turnaround and focusing more on domestic hirings instead.

Currently, there are 31 positions available at Ripple, split between San Francisco and New York. The majority of these vacancies fall under the engineering department.

According to Garlinghouse, Chairman Gary Gensler’s actions have allegedly hindered or blocked Ripple’s domestic business prospects for an extended period.

As a SEC lawsuit filed in December 2020 loomed, Ripple was contemplating establishing its headquarters overseas rather than within the United States. In an interview on CNN with Julia Chatterley, Ripple’s CEO Garlinghouse also stated that approximately 95% of the company’s customers were based outside the U.S at the time.

Nevertheless, it chose to remain in its native land, even facing regulatory antagonism and legal complications.

In 2022, Garlinghouse stated that the company was acting as though it had already been defeated by increasing its workforce beyond the U.S. borders.

Ripple executives have repeatedly criticized the SEC for harming the cryptocurrency industry.

In 2023, it was disclosed by the head of Ripple that an impressive 80% of their recruitment activities were occurring outside of the United States.

As Gensler’s departure is now official, our organization has embarked on an active recruitment drive here at home.
