Fans are expecting FromSoftware to release The Duskbloods around 2026, but a new leak suggests we might get another game from the studio even sooner this year. Although the leak’s accuracy is being debated, those following news about a potential unreleased FromSoftware game will be interested in the details that recently appeared on 4chan.
As with previous leaks from this source, gamers should be very skeptical of these details appearing on 4chan. While accurate information sometimes surfaces there, 4chan is also known for hoaxes and deliberate misinformation. So, while FromSoftware might be working on a pirate game, it’s equally possible the rumors aren’t true. If the information is accurate, though, we might see the single-player RPG revealed at Summer Game Fest, and some details about what to expect have emerged.
FromSoftware has been working on a game internally known as Project FMC, previously thought to be called Cerulean Assault. But recent rumors suggest some of the initial details might not be accurate.
Breaking Down the Latest Leaks About FromSoftware’s Pirate Game
Recent posts from 4chan, shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit by The-Noob-Smoke, both confirm and contradict earlier leaks about the new game. It seems the game is a dark fantasy action RPG with a pirate theme, but it won’t feature the open-world sailing found in games like Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. Instead of a ship being a base players return to, the ship itself will be the main setting for the entire game.
Recent posts on 4chan suggest the new FromSoftware game takes place on a massive, ship-shaped island that has crashed into and become part of land. The game’s title is rumored to include the word “vessel.” The player character is reportedly called “Drowned,” which seems plausible given FromSoftware’s naming conventions for protagonists in games like Elden Ring and Dark Souls (Tarnished and Ashen One, respectively). Unlike a previous leak, there’s currently no information about a release date, despite earlier claims of a launch just months after the game’s August reveal.
It’s no surprise players are debating the authenticity of these recent leaks. Some think they support the idea that the game is real, referencing a previous project called “Project Abyss” and past FromSoftware leaks that turned out to be accurate. There’s also speculation that FromSoftware might be using this game to help train newer developers, potentially reusing ideas or assets from areas like the Cerulean Coast in Elden Ring – or even just borrowing the name if the leak is a hoax. However, many players are jokingly comparing this to the completely fabricated “Velvet Veil” leak from a few years ago, showing the community is very divided on whether this game actually exists.

If the recent rumors are true, Hidetaka Miyazaki is developing a game he’s always wanted to make: a fantasy game featuring unique, organic-looking robots. He’s mentioned this idea before, and fans are understandably excited. Now, all we can do is wait for FromSoftware to officially reveal the game, but the concept is already incredibly promising.
