As a dedicated fan of Star Wars and especially Ahsoka, the news that Season 2 is finally coming has me jumping for joy! I’ve been anxiously waiting since August 2023 when the first season premiered, and while the silence made me question if we’d ever get to see more of my favorite Togruta, I can now breathe a sigh of relief.
As a dedicated gamer, it’s been a full year since we first got hooked on Ahsoka, and there’s been nothing but silence about a new season. But guess what? The wait might finally be over, because it looks like Season 2 is about to drop!
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reminisce about the exhilarating premiere of “Ahsoka,” the Star Wars spinoff series that captivated us all. The wait for Season 2 has felt like an eternity, leaving many of us on tenterhooks and questioning if it would ever materialize. But now, it appears that our prayers have been answered! It seems that the production is finally gearing up!
During a recent Star Wars panel at Dragon Con, Natasha Liu Bordizzo teased Ahsoka Season 2. According to Reddit user u/Lopotato25, Bordizzo, who plays Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren, hinted that she will not be attending next year’s convention due to being busy filming the new season. Additionally, @cosmic_marvel reported that production for Season 2 is set to begin in the summer of next year.
The show titled “Ahsoka” premiered in August 2023, gaining immense popularity among “Star Wars” enthusiasts. Following the first season’s triumph, viewers eagerly anticipated a second season announcement. However, with no news or updates for several months, apprehension grew as some speculated about the show’s possible cancellation. Fortunately, recent announcements confirm that Season 2 is indeed being produced. Yet, fresh concerns have surfaced regarding its release timeline. It was disclosed that filming for Season 2 won’t commence until summer 2025. Given the lengthy production schedules common for shows of this scale, it seems probable that Season 2 might not air until 2026. The production of Season 1 concluded in October 2022 and was released in August 2023, implying a year-long gap between the end of filming and its premiere. If a similar schedule applies to Season 2, fans may have to wait until early 2026 for its release.
There are several factors contributing to potential delays in the release of Ahsoka Season 2. The overall progress of Star Wars has slowed recently, potentially due to last year’s writers’ and actors’ strikes. This disruption may have impacted projects across the board, including Ahsoka. Moreover, show creator and showrunner Dave Filoni is currently managing multiple Star Wars projects, which could further postpone the next season. He is co-writing the Mandalorian and Grogu movie, as well as writing and directing his own Star Wars film. Given this heavy workload, it’s possible that Ahsoka’s premiere may be pushed back even further.
