As a dedicated fan, I can’t contain my excitement as Jagex is offering us a sneak peek into the content of the upcoming RuneScape: Dragonwilds update, specifically addressing the long-awaited fix for Velgar. While there’s no confirmed date yet for Update 0.7.3 of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, those of us who have been eagerly waiting for a reprieve from the dragon’s meteors should brace ourselves for some much-needed relief in the coming days!
In just over two weeks since its early access debut, “RuneScape: Dragonwilds” has proven to be a hit for Jagex. Abandoning the traditional MMORPG format that “RuneScape” has been linked with for the past 24 years, this open-world survival game set in the same universe has attracted substantial audiences. At its peak, it boasted over 50,000 concurrent players and continues to receive regular updates, even after its launch on April 15.
In the game RuneScape: Dragonwilds, battling dragons is one of its toughest parts, with Velgar being the most dangerous until Fellhollow’s release. Though Velgar is designed to be a challenging boss, his meteor attacks could inadvertently pass through player bases’ roofs, leaving no safe spot for players to hide. Recent notes on the game’s official Steam page hint at modifications coming to Velgar’s meteors, suggesting they will cause less trouble when players are hiding under their bases’ roofs. Jagex hasn’t clarified whether this means full protection from Velgar’s attacks will be provided by roofs in the future, but it seems that there might be some benefits for players in the upcoming days.
It isn’t the first adjustment Jagex has made to make fighting Velgar less challenging; a recent update for RuneScape: Dragonwilds, approximately a week ago, noticeably weakened the dragon general’s attacks. The alterations consisted of decreasing the distance from five meters to two and restricting its poison breath attacks to occur only during strafing maneuvers.
– In the upcoming update, you can expect a few more features along with cloud saves – a frequently demanded feature by players. Other minor adjustments will be made as well, such as improving stability, tweaking immunities, balancing experience points, correcting errors in the journal, and resolving a bug that was hindering quest completion for some players when their inventories are full. As for the anticipated introduction of a vast PvPvE map in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, there’s no official confirmation yet, but Jagex has been collecting player opinions on this potential addition through an official survey.

Velgar Meteor Fix
If you’re securely situated at your home base with defensive cover in place, falling meteors from the Scaly Scourge should pose fewer issues for you now. Continued barrages might have required us to invent a shield or shelter instead.
