The game’s captivating storyline, stunning visuals, and nostalgic turn-based battle system instantly drew me in, making it one of my favorite indie RPGs to date.

Recently, Sabotage Studio has been quiet about their game “Sea of Stars,” but they’ve shared some news about its upcoming DLC. Back in October 2023, around one month after the launch of “Sea of Stars,” the developer announced this expansion. The title of the DLC is intriguingly called “Throes of the Watchmaker.” Although not much detail has been given, the expansion is said to be a mix of mystery and quirkiness.

As a gamer, I’ve recently discovered the captivating world of “Sea of Stars,” an indie RPG that has left both seasoned and new gamers enchanted. With its vibrant visuals, I can’t help but be drawn in. The music, composed by none other than Yasunori Mitsuda from “Chrono Trigger,” sets the perfect tone for my adventure. And let me tell you, the turn-based battle system brings me right back to the 90s RPGs I grew up with. Sabotage Studio Gives Update On Upcoming DLC for Sea Of Stars

When Sabotage Studio unveiled that the DLC would be named “Throes of the Watchmaker,” fans swiftly linked it to the character bearing the same moniker. The Watchmaker is a covert supporter of the Solstice Warriors. She assists them in their quest, yet maintains secrecy about her allegiance. The Watchmaker is also the mastermind behind “Sea of Stars” most popular minigame, Wheels. Potential enhancements for this minigame, such as new characters and adversaries, could be included in the DLC.

Simultaneously, Sabotage has been previewing other game updates for players, including a three-player cooperative mode named “Single Player+,” unveiled in March with a sneak peek revealing that each player gets to individually manage one of the three party members during exploration of maps. The developer mentioned that each player retains their unique character in battles and dropped a hint about a new feature called “Coordinated Timed Hits.” So far, this is all the information disclosed regarding this update.

If Sea of Stars, like The Messenger developed by Sabotage Studio, takes a similar approach to releasing DLC, we might see the expansion pack launched approximately one year after the RPG’s debut, or at least unveiled with an official trailer. According to the developer’s tweet, further information will be shared in 2024.
