In the realm of open-world survival games, I find myself constructing a base in the captivating landscape of RuneScape: Dragonwilds. What sets this game apart is its intricate detail – for instance, to make certain items functional, one needs to build a shelter. This added layer of realism really immerses me, as only with solid walls and a sturdy roof can I rest peacefully, protected from the harsh elements like wind and rain.
In the game ‘RuneScape: Dragonwilds’, you have two options for constructing buildings. One option involves felling trees and amassing Ash Logs to create elaborate structures, while the other requires simply erecting four walls and two floors to build a basic shelter. Both types of constructions serve the same purpose; however, the latter option requires less woodcutting.
How To Build A Shelter In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, constructing a shelter involves setting up both walls and a roof. Failure to do so means the game won’t recognize your shelter. Once you’ve built the walls and placed a roof above them, you’ll be able to craft items within that necessitate a shelter, and they will operate as intended.
In the beginning of my adventure in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, I didn’t require much room since all I needed was a Bed Roll and a Spinning Wheel. But as time passed, I found myself with more craftables that could only operate within a shelter. This meant my humble abode wasn’t enough to house all these new gadgets anymore. That’s when the importance of building a sturdy foundation for my shelter became apparent.
How To Build A Foundation
In the game RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a solid base or foundation is crucial as it supports the entire structure. Any element that rests on the ground can be considered a foundation, and additional buildings can be connected to it. For instance, when your initial construction reaches its capacity, you can extend the foundation by adding another building directly onto the ground.
For smaller shelters, building walls and ceilings isn’t challenging due to minimal strain on the foundation. But as a shelter grows in size and width, a robust foundation becomes essential to sustain its weight. You’ll find that the structure may become unstable without attaching it to a strong base or supporting another building beneath it to bear its load.
Control Your Builds

As you continue to build, you’ll progressively enhance your construction proficiency. Many of these advancements grant access to new building components and styles of furniture, whereas others introduce helpful features that streamline the construction process. For instance, at level 11, you’ll acquire the Eye of Oculus skill, enabling free-form building without the need for character control. You can simply soar around your construction site to assess and expand it. At level 20, you’ll gain the power to summon a tent, offering temporary refuge. This allows you to rest comfortably while away from the base, eliminating the necessity of returning home.
