Shiba Inu Team Takes Jab at Microsoft Windows After Biggest Outage in History

As a seasoned technology analyst with a decade of experience under my belt, I’ve witnessed my fair share of IT disasters and outages. The recent Microsoft Windows fiasco, however, takes the cake for being the most widespread and impactful in recent memory.

The creators of the Shiba Inu meme cryptocurrency playfully criticized Microsoft through their social media channel following today’s massive tech outage, jokingly suggesting that Windows required an urgent system update or restart.

Microsoft’s popular Windows operating system encountered unexpected issues after a problematic software update from CrowdStrike, a well-known cybersecurity tech firm based in Texas.

Multiple industries including airlines, healthcare facilities through hospitals, accommodations such as hotels, and others experienced disruptions due to the global blackout. In certain American regions, 911 emergency response services faced challenges in functioning optimally, while some local television networks encountered difficulties in broadcasting news updates.

George Kurtz, CEO of CrowdStrike, asserts that a solution has been implemented to address the problem. Yet, the duration of the recovery process remains uncertain since the afflicted computers may necessitate manual interventions.

As a crypto investor, I’ve noticed a significant decline in CrowdStrike’s share price, amounting to a hefty 10.5% drop at the current moment. Similarly, Microsoft’s shares have experienced a nearly 1% decrease.

During this interval, the Shiba Inu group highlighted the robustness of their Shibarium layer-2 network, noting its unwavering performance. Specifically, on July 18, approximately 5,400 transactions were processed through it without interruption, even on a Friday.

Several Bitcoin supporters have joined the crypto community in expressing their views on the recent unexpected tech issue. They’ve emphasized on social media that Bitcoin continues to operate effectively, even though numerous traditional banking systems have been impacted by the widespread IT failure.
