Space and Time Unveils Proof of SQL for Data-Driven DeFi

As a seasoned crypto investor with a background in computer science and data analytics, I’m excited about Space and Time (SxT) unveiling Proof of SQL, their new high-performance zero-knowledge prover for SQL database inquiries. This innovation is a game-changer for the blockchain industry, as it enables engineers to perform computations over both on-chain and off-chain datasets in a trustless way during transactions.

Space and Time (SxT), the trusted compute platform for blockchains, announced the availability of Proof of SQL, an advanced zero-knowledge proof system designed for data preparation, which is now open-source on GitHub.

As a researcher, I’m excited about the advancements being made in the field of blockchain technology, specifically with regards to SQL verification through Proof by SxT. This groundbreaking ZK proof ensures that SQL queries are executed accurately using unadulterated data. With this innovation, engineers can carry out computations on both on-chain and off-chain datasets without the need for trust, making their smart contracts more robust during transactions. The potential impact of this technology on the development of decentralized finance (DeFi) is significant, as it enables data-driven contracts that are truly smart.

Space and Time Unveils Proof of SQL for Data-Driven DeFi

As the Head of Research at SxT and the inventor of the Verification of SQL convention, Dr. Jay White, co-founder of Space and Time, is thrilled to spearhead the Web3 community’s transition into a new phase focusing on data-driven smart contracts and advanced DeFi solutions. Our team has been at the forefront of innovation, having developed sub-second ZK proofs. This groundbreaking technology empowers both smart contracts and AI operators to access both on-chain and off-chain data. In turn, they can obtain trustless SQL query results during a transaction, eliminating the need to wait for lengthy 30-minute verification periods.

In simpler terms, SQL proof provides more efficient data engineering for dealing with large data volumes than generalized zkVMs and co-processors. Although zkVMs offer an extendable structure for autonomous computations, their data handling abilities are relatively limited. SQL proof can be integrated with these zkVMs to ensure authentic source data for subjective code execution.

Community engagement and partnerships are encouraged at Space and Time for other ZKP construction teams. Our proof system can be integrated into various SQL databases, including centralized and decentralized ones, and is currently safeguarding several prominent Web3 applications, financial organizations, and businesses.
