Elias Toufexis, the actor voicing a character in Bungie’s new game, Marathon, has addressed the negative reaction fans have had to the news that Destiny 2 will no longer receive updates. Marathon launched in March 2026, nine years after Destiny 2, and Bungie has been focusing its efforts on the new title. This shift has disappointed many Destiny 2 players who are still actively playing the game.
Speaking with PC Gamer, actor Dimitri Toufexis addressed the negative feedback surrounding Marathon following Bungie’s announcement that they’ll be ending live updates for Destiny 2 in June. Toufexis, a veteran of the gaming industry since 2006, stated he’s open to criticism of Marathon itself, but dislikes the anger stemming from changes to Destiny 2. He explained, “I get that people loved Destiny 2, and then Bungie decided to focus on Marathon. People were upset about that, and that’s okay. If you’re not happy with Marathon, just don’t play it – that’s a fair way to show your dissatisfaction.”
