Spectre Divide Reduces Cosmetic Skin Price from $90 to $70 After Backlash

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that I am both intrigued and dismayed by the recent price adjustments in Spectre Divide. On one hand, it’s refreshing to see a game studio listening to its community and making changes based on feedback. However, the prices for these cosmetic items still seem exorbitant, even after the 17-25% reduction.

In response to criticisms about excessive pricing, the free-to-play team-based shooter game Spectre Divide has lowered the costs of its cosmetic skins by 17-25%.

Yesterday, Mountaintop Studios, creators of Spectre Divide, shared their plans on Discord. In their announcement, they expressed regret for any issues that may have arisen and stated they are responding to feedback about pricing. Their solution involves significant price reductions, with weapons and characters seeing a decrease of 17-25% in cost.

Nevertheless, despite the shift, Mountaintop Studios continues to receive criticism due to their persistently high skin prices. For instance, a package they’ve labeled as the ‘Cryo Kinesis Masterpiece bundle’ requires 7000 Spectre Points, which translates to a hefty $70 for gamers.

Instead of purchasing a complete AAA game title at that cost, what you’ll receive are merely four fundamental weapon skins and a decorative axe melee weapon, which essentially serves as an aesthetic modification for a knife.

Players find it even more worrying that the game bundle was previously discounted by 25%, making the price approximately $120. This recent adjustment has added to their concerns.

As a gamer, I’m super excited about the upcoming “Medusa Bundle”! It’s been reduced in price, but it’ll still cost me 3400 Spectre Points, which is roughly $34. Can’t wait to dive in!

The game titled Spectre Divide has been launched for PC users, while console adaptations are set to arrive at a later date.
