The highly anticipated game, Split Fiction, is seen as the spiritual heir to It Takes Two, and it’s generating a lot of excitement. Hazelight Studios has mastered the cooperative formula, and fans are eagerly waiting for its release, as they yearn for a shared adventure experience.
As a passionate gamer, I’m always advocating for the growth of cooperative gaming experiences. Contrary to popular belief, the co-op genre isn’t on its last legs; it’s brimming with titles that offer both local and online play. To truly understand this, I urge you to explore some of the biggest co-op games set to release in 2025. Among these, Split Fiction is poised to lead the charge, likely setting the standard for the genre’s future evolution.
Director Josef Fares looks to keep the art of co-op alive and further the genre wherever possible.
Split Fiction Release Date
Hazelight Studios is launching Split Fiction on March 6.
2024’s The Game Awards showcased an extraordinary event honoring everything gaming-related. Among the accolades bestowed, there were numerous game unveilings and previews. During the event, Josef Fares from Hazelight Studios revealed the long-awaited sequel to It Takes Two—Split Fiction.
As an eager enthusiast, I find myself in a position of anticipation, for there’s no sneak peek or Early Access opportunity available. Instead, we must exercise our patience together, keeping our fingers crossed, as the grand unveiling is scheduled for March 6th. It’s a date that promises to bring fresh ideas and groundbreaking innovations into focus.
Split Fiction Platforms
It’s a pure next-gen launch for Split Fiction debuting on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
frankly, it’s surprising that Split Fiction decided not to release their game on previous-generation consoles; after all, It Takes Two came out simultaneously on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at launch, with a Switch port following shortly after.
While Split Fiction currently focuses on the latest generation, there’s a possibility that a Switch 2 could emerge in the future. Given Nintendo’s upcoming console is said to be significantly more powerful, it wouldn’t be unexpected for the Switch 2 to potentially rejuvenate Split Fiction.
Split Fiction Editions & Price
The standard edition of Split Fiction, which is the sole available version, carries a suggested retail price of either $49.99 USD or £39.99 GBP.
Both traditional and digital versions of Split Fiction are available. Notably, the Standard Edition serves as the sole method to experience Split Fiction. There’s no Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe Edition, or Collector’s Edition on offer. This is beneficial for players who prefer not to frequently invest in costly upgrades.
From the time of A Way Out, I’ve been an ardent admirer of Hazelight Studios. Are you as excited as I am about Split Fiction? Could it be that Electronic Arts (EA) is poised for another hit game with this one?
Check out Split Fiction gameplay to wet your whistle in the meantime.
