Video games frequently let players experience things they can’t in real life, like having incredible powers. A common dream for many gamers is to become a powerful Jedi or Sith Lord from the world of Star Wars.

Star Wars games offer fans a chance to experience life as a Jedi or Sith, but they often portray characters with abilities that exceed those seen in the popular movies and TV shows.

These eight Star Wars games let you experience power levels beyond those of any Jedi or Sith seen in the movies and TV shows.

8. Vader Immortal

The Long-Lost Descendant of Lady Corvax

As a Star Wars fan, I think Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series is seriously one of the coolest and most overlooked games out there, especially because you actually get to use the Force as a playable character! It’s a really unique experience.

In this game, you play as a grown-up smuggler who unexpectedly discovers they have a connection to the Force. They’re also revealed to be a descendant of Lady Corvax, a powerful figure from the planet Mustafar. To obtain a valuable artifact called the Bright Star, the smuggler must receive some training from Darth Vader himself.

In just a short time, the story of Vader Immortal shows a smuggler quickly becoming powerful enough to fight Darth Vader with a lightsaber and use the Force to destroy robots. This is an impressive feat, as even Rey, in the first two Star Wars sequel films, hadn’t reached that level of ability.

7. Star Wars: Battlefront II

Jumpy Skywalker Saga Force Wielders

In the video game Star Wars: Battlefront II developed by Pandemic Studios, players can experience iconic battles from the original six Star Wars films. You can play as a variety of characters, including regular soldiers and droids, or take on the roles of powerful Jedi heroes or sinister Sith villains.

The heroes and villains who use the Force in Battlefront II are generally more powerful than they appear in the original Star Wars films. Most Jedi and Sith can jump to heights of three stories or even glide through the air using the Force.

As a fan, I’ve noticed something really cool – some characters pull out moves we’ve never seen them do before! Like, Kit Fisto suddenly throwing these crazy energy blasts, or Mace Windu creating little shockwaves when he lands after a jump. It’s awesome to see them surprise us with abilities we didn’t know they had!

6. Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith

The Brutal Fall of the Jedi

Similar to Battlefront II, the Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith game lets you play as Jedi and Sith from the movies. However, because it’s an action-fighting game, these characters are much more powerful than they appear in the films.

In the game, Anakin Skywalker uses Force lightning powerfully against both Jedi and Separatist enemies, even though he never demonstrates this ability in the movies, not even when he’s Darth Vader.

Many Jedi and Sith in the game have unique and powerful moves not seen in the films, thanks to their ability to use Force dash and combine it with other attacks. Examples include Skywalker’s Fury Explosion, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Force Shockwave, and Cin Drallig’s 1,000 Slashes. Cin Drallig, who only had a quick appearance in Revenge of the Sith, is one of the characters who features these special abilities.

5. Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Kyle Katarn’s Skilled Apprentices

After the Battle of Endor, numerous individuals strong with the Force began training as Jedi or Sith. While many learned from Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, some were instructed by Kyle Katarn, a well-known hero from Star Wars video games.

Kyle Katarn inherited Force sensitivity from his Jedi father, but he didn’t fully develop his powers and lightsaber skills until the events of Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. By the end of that story, he became a teacher at Luke Skywalker’s academy on Yavin IV.

In Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Katarn trains both Rosh Penin and the player character, Jaden Korr, in the ways of the Force and lightsaber combat. They quickly become proficient in various fighting styles, including using single, double-bladed, and dual lightsabers, and learn Force powers like Force Drain and Force Absorb.

4. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Cal Kestis’ Ever-Expanding Abilities

In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal Kestis goes from being one of the few Jedi who survived the devastating Order 66 to a fully-fledged Jedi Knight in just a matter of days. During this short time, he rediscovers his skills and overcomes incredible odds, taking down numerous Stormtroopers, defeating two powerful Imperial Inquisitors, and even surviving a confrontation with Darth Vader.

Cal Kestis was already a strong Jedi in the first game, but he became even more skilled in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. He learned three new ways to fight with his lightsaber – in addition to his existing single-blade and double-blade styles – allowing him to wield two lightsabers, combine a lightsaber with a blaster, and use a crossguard lightsaber.

During his search for Tanalorr, Cal Kestis learned several new Force powers. He could now influence massive creatures to fight alongside him, and briefly tap into the dark side to increase his damage and freeze opponents. These abilities established Kestis as one of the most formidable Jedi within the current Disney Star Wars universe.

3. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Meetra Surik’s Influential Force Abilities

BioWare’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic gave us strong Force users like Dark Malak, Bastila Shan, and the complex Darth Revan. However, I believe the playable character in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords – Meetra Surik – was even more powerful.

Meetra Surik, the main character in KOTOR II, begins her story as a battle-hardened Jedi Knight who fought in the Mandalorian Wars. She’s one of the few who survived the devastating activation of the Mass Shadow Generator on Malachor V, an event that led her to disconnect from the Force and go into hiding.

Throughout the events of Knights of the Old Republic II, Surik reconnects with the Force and overcomes incredibly powerful Sith Lords – Darth Nihilus, Darth Sion, and Darth Traya. She achieves this through unique abilities like Force Enlightenment and Battle Precognition, among others.

2. Star Wars: The Old Republic

Legions of Jedi and Sith Warriors

The Old Republic period featured incredibly powerful Jedi and Sith in the Legends stories, making their abilities and lightsaber combat far more impressive than what’s shown in the movies. Many of these famous characters also appear in the online game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

As a huge fan, I loved that in The Old Republic, you could choose to play as so many different classes! Whether you wanted to be a noble Jedi Knight or a powerful Sith Warrior, or even something else entirely, there was a path for you. Each class, especially the Jedi and Sith ones, had its own story and awesome abilities to unlock – things like Dark Ward and Force Storm were seriously cool to use. It really felt like you were building a unique character and mastering the Force (or, you know, the dark side!).

Players will face off against dangerous Jedi and Sith Lords like Darth Baras and Master Syo Bakarn. As The Old Republic expands with new classes and content, players gain even more skills to overcome increasingly powerful foes, including Darth Malgus, Darth Revan, and Darth Vitiate.

1. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Star Wars’ Most Overpowered Force Wielder

If you want to play as a Force user who’s far more powerful than any Jedi or Sith from the Star Wars movies, TV shows, or other games, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, featuring Darth Vader’s hidden apprentice Starkiller, is the clear winner.

Starkiller was incredibly strong with the Force in the Legends universe. He could easily throw opponents, creatures, and vehicles around as if they were weightless, and he used powerful attacks like the Force repulse. He was also skilled in many other Force abilities, both dark and light side, including Force lightning.

Starkiller demonstrated incredible power, far beyond most Jedi and Sith. He single-handedly destroyed an Imperial Star Destroyer with the Force, and even managed to defeat powerful opponents like Darth Vader, Darth Sidious, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Luke Skywalker (in one alternate storyline).
