Stardew Valley: How to Build and Use a Cabin

In this guide, you’ll find detailed instructions on crafting and utilizing cabins within the captivating world of Stardew Valley, a farming simulation game.

How to Build a Cabin in Stardew Valley

In Stardew Valley, you can construct cabins on your farm to enable multiplayer gaming with friends. Each cabin accommodates one player and up to seven cabins can be built in total, facilitating gameplay for eight players simultaneously. If you establish a new server to play with friends, the cabin will be free of charge; otherwise, you’ll need to spend some money to build it.

Robin’s Carpenter Shop

First, players need to visit Robin’s Carpenter Shop, which is open from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Construct Farm Buildings

Upon entering Robin’s Carpenter Shop, engage in conversation with the woman at the counter and pick the “Build Farm Structures” choice.

Choose Cabin

From the list of available buildings, select the Cabin. It will cost 100 Gold.

Placement

Once you’ve chosen your cabin, it’s time to decide where on your farm you’d like to set it up. You can navigate using the arrow keys to move a placement indicator, and pressing ‘Enter’ will confirm your chosen spot.

How to Use the Cabin

Once friends enter the game, they’re free to select one of the offered accommodations to reside in; each participant will possess their own private abode, which they can personalize according to their preferences. The inhabitants may interact with items within their dwelling, store their possessions in trunks, and rest in the bed for energy restoration, allowing them to progress into the following day’s activities. A captivating aspect of these accommodations is that when a player who previously occupied the cabin departs from the game, all their belongings are preserved within a chest on the farm.

It’s important to mention as well that when players reach level 3 of their cabins, they can customize them by painting them. To accomplish this, simply make a trip to the Carpenter’s Shop and choose the ‘Paint Buildings’ option. The great news is that applying paint to your cabin won’t cost you anything at all.
