In Sentience, your choices as an android determine how the story unfolds – will you be a helper, or forge your own path? You’ll also learn from the remnants of past explorers on the planet Akritas, earning their trust along the way. The gameplay itself is a traditional point-and-click adventure, offering a relaxed but thought-provoking experience. The game delves into big ideas about what it means to be intelligent and truly alive.
Sentience offers at least twelve different endings, with the fate of each main character depending on the player’s decisions. It’s best described as a lower-budget, sci-fi version of the gameplay found in The Dark Pictures Anthology. While it doesn’t reach the complexity of choice-driven games like Dispatch, it could still be worth checking out for fans of the genre, especially since it’s free!
