As a seasoned analyst, I’ve come across some disturbing news regarding Sydney Sweeney’s official X account being infiltrated by cunning cryptocurrency scammers.
Recently, the account has been actively promoting a questionable Solana meme coin with a name inspired by the popular actress from “Euphoria.”
A post mentioned that Sweeney was set to make an appearance on X Spaces, which was formerly referred to as Twitter Spaces, for a discussion on the token.
The compromised account also posted about a fake giveaway and a token burn.
When I composed this text, the deceitful messages had previously been taken down from the actresses’ authentic X accounts.
As a crypto investor, I’ve noticed a troubling trend emerging in the world of meme coins. Recently, scammers have set their sights on young and influential celebrities like Iggy Azalea, who are currently riding the wave of popularity for these digital assets. These unscrupulous individuals are attempting to capitalize on the hype surrounding celebrity-backed meme coins, potentially putting unsuspecting investors at risk. It’s crucial for us as a community to stay informed and be cautious when investing in any new crypto projects, especially those with celebrities attached.
Metallica, the renowned heavy metal band, and rapper 50 Cent are among the latest high-profile figures whose social media accounts have been hacked for the purpose of spreading false information about tokens.
Sweeney has previously fallen victim to crypto scammers. Back in January, they exploited her public image by using an indecent photograph of the renowned actress to advertise a bogus Solana cryptocurrency.
