Tales of the Shire Delayed to Early 2025 by Weta Workshop

As a long-time fan of Lord of the Rings and a connoisseur of cosy games, I’m eagerly awaiting the release of Tales of the Shire. Having spent countless hours gardening, fishing, and foraging in Stardew Valley, the prospect of living the life of a Hobbit in the heart of the Shire is too enticing to resist. The delay until early 2025 might be disappointing, but I’d rather wait an extra year for a polished, engaging experience than settle for a rushed game.

Weta Workshop has recently shared that Tales of the Shire will now be available from early 2025 instead of its initial release date. The team wants to ensure the game exceeds your expectations and is exactly what you’re hoping for, so they have opted to delay the launch in order to achieve this high standard.

It was originally due to be released in the coming months.

Cosy Hobbit-Style Living

Lovers of The Lord of the Rings series can look forward to an enjoyable experience with Tales of the Shire, set to release next year. This traditional, comforting video game allows players to immerse themselves in the daily life of a Hobbit within the Shire.

The journey begins by crafting your very own distinctive Hobbit character, followed by designing and decorating your personal Hobbit home. As events unfold in this game, you’ll discover activities such as fishing, gardening, gathering resources, trading, and mingling with the local inhabitants. This game is intended to be a calming, heartfelt experience, so it has less emphasis on action – that’s just a glimpse into the tranquil lifestyle of an average Hobbit.

On September 22nd, Weta Workshop is organizing an event to explore more about the gameplay mechanics and the world within Tales of the Shire. However, whether a new release date will be announced during this event remains uncertain. Currently, it’s only known that the game will be launched in the early months of 2025.
