A new update is now available for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, bringing with it several bug fixes and exciting new content. Players can look forward to fresh missions, events, and a new vendor specifically designed for those who’ve reached the endgame. It’s been a great year for The Division 2 already, marked by a celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary, and developers promise even more is on the way for fans.
To celebrate 10 years of The Division, Massive Entertainment shared a preview of upcoming content planned for late 2026. Players can now enjoy a more realistic gaming experience with the new Realism mode for the Warlords of New York expansion, featuring better lighting, shadows, and more detailed graphics. Looking ahead, The Division will continue to release seasonal content and introduce a new extraction game mode called Survivors later this year, alongside a new incursion. A short video also teased a potential expansion, seemingly set in Central Park, with clues suggesting a focus on the Hunter character – including a glimpse of a hand and mysterious footsteps.
Massive is still actively updating and improving The Division 2 with the latest update bringing new content for players. A new vendor has been added to the Base of Operations – located next to the Escalation panel – allowing players to exchange tokens for powerful Prototype Gear. Introduced at the beginning of Season 1, Prototype Gear is the best loot available in the game, offering better stats and modifications than other gear types like High-End, Named, and Gear Sets.
The recent update adds a new vendor selling three different types of caches. Players can buy as many of these caches each day as they want, but they must be at least level 40 to do so.
Prototype Random Cache
- Purchasing this grants one Prototype item of any type. Better yet, this option is always available.
Prototype Gear Cache
- The Gear cache is part of a daily rotation, featuring a different equipment type in Prototype rarity. While opening this cache grants one Prototype item of a specific type, items obtained from this have a higher chance of getting a better roll than normal.
Prototype Weapon Cache
- The final option is the Prototype Weapon Cache, which is also part of a daily rotation that features a different type in Prototype rarity. The cache will grant one Prototype weapon of the currently active type for that day and siomilar to the Gear Cache, has a chance of awarding a weapon with a better roll.

Besides this update, there are only a few days remaining to enjoy the limited-time Cherry Blossom event in The Division 2. Launched in April, the event added beautiful cherry blossom trees and decorations to the Washington, D.C. map. Players could find these decorations while fighting special enemies – Kitsunebi and Ronin – to earn keys. These keys unlocked exclusive rewards like the Kintsugi Fox Mask, the Winter Tiger Boxer outfit, and other items to customize your character. The event ends on May 12th, so don’t miss out!

Escalation Requisition Vendor
We’ve added a new vendor to the game called the Escalation Requisition Vendor. You can use Escalation Tokens to get Prototype Gear from this vendor. It’s located in the Base of Operations, right next to the Escalation panel.
The Escalation Requisition Vendor offers three different types of caches:
Prototype Random Cache
- This cache is always available for sale.
- Opening this cache rewards one Prototype item of any type.
Prototype Gear Cache
- This cache is part of a daily rotation.
- Every day, it features a different equipment type in Prototype quality.
- Opening this cache rewards one Prototype item of that specific type.
- Items obtained from this cache have a higher chance of getting better rolls.
Prototype Weapon Cache
- This cache is also part of a daily rotation.
- Every day, it features a different weapon type in Prototype quality.
- Opening this cache rewards one Prototype weapon of that specific type.
- Items obtained from this cache have a higher chance of getting better rolls.
Just so you know, Level 40 Agents can buy as many caches as they want from the Escalation Requisition Vendor.
CLASSIFIED ASSIGNMENTS
Starting May 12, a new Classified Assignment, The Capitol Anomaly, will become available.
The ISAC detected unusual activity on the SHD network linked to missing agents, and it’s led you to the old headquarters of The Capitol Globe, a once-prominent newspaper in Washington D.C.
If you like exploring environments, solving mysteries, and finding hidden details, The Capitol Anomaly is definitely worth playing.
While exploring, be sure to find collectibles like ECHOes and audio logs. You can also earn extra rewards, such as special backpack trophies and uniquely named items.
When it’s released, The Capitol Anomaly will be visible on the map for players level 30 and higher. You can start it right from the map, and if you have the Season Pass Bundle, you’ll automatically have access.
