The Elder Scrolls: Dawn And Dusk Officially Announced

The Elder Scrolls series has faced some challenges lately, mainly due to the long wait for the next game. It’s hard to believe that The Elder Scrolls VI was originally announced in 2018 with just a short teaser. Considering the last major release, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, came out in 2011, it’s understandable why fans are eager for a new installment and feel like they’ve been waiting forever.

Even Todd Howard, the head of Bethesda, has said they revealed The Elder Scrolls VI too early. This means fans will likely have to wait a long time – we don’t expect the game to come out until 2030 at the very soonest.

Despite recent setbacks, there’s good news for fans of one Elder Scrolls game: it continues to receive new content, and June looks particularly promising with some great free rewards planned for players.

Originally launched in 2014, The Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) created by ZeniMax Online Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game takes place in the popular world of Tamriel and features a story that connects to other Elder Scrolls games. While the initial release received mixed reactions, the game was significantly improved in 2015 with a re-release called The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. This version moved to a system where players could buy the game and then make optional purchases, with an optional subscription available as well, leading to much better reviews.

Since its launch, The Elder Scrolls Online has continued to be popular, with ZeniMax Online Studios consistently adding new updates and content. This was particularly well-received in 2025 when the developers shifted from releasing large annual expansions to a seasonal content model for the game.

Players can look forward to a lot more new content and updates soon, and June looks like it will be a great month for The Elder Scrolls Online.

The official Elder Scrolls Online Twitter page revealed plans extending into June 2026 with the upcoming Dawn and Dusk update. ESO will be added to Xbox PC Game Pass on June 2nd, and players will get a first look at Season One at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7th. A significant update arrives on June 8th, featuring improvements to werewolves, a new challenge difficulty, and other enhancements. A community livestream is scheduled for June 18th-23rd, and an in-game event begins on June 24th, running until July 8th, letting players celebrate the God of Commerce and earn extra rewards.

The next few weeks look really promising for The Elder Scrolls Online players, and should help make the time until The Elder Scrolls VI passes a bit more quickly.
