Ugh, the Epic Games Store is down right now, and it’s seriously bad timing! Every Thursday, I try to grab the free games they give away – it’s a big part of building up my library. Usually, they drop the new freebies in the morning, but this week’s game is taking forever to show up. It’s a little frustrating when things don’t go smoothly, you know?
During The Game Awards, Epic Games Store announced its next free game, which turned out to be Hogwarts Legacy. This is a huge giveaway, considering Hogwarts Legacy was the best-selling game of 2023 and a very popular action RPG. The offer was so popular, it actually caused the Epic Games Store website to temporarily crash.
PC gamers trying to get Hogwarts Legacy for free on the Epic Games Store are finding the website is currently unavailable. It’s unknown when the store will be back up, but hopefully it will be soon. The issue is likely caused by a large number of players trying to claim the game at the same time, and the site should return to normal once the initial rush subsides.
