The Most-Anticipated Switch 2 Games Confirmed For June

It’s been almost a year since the Nintendo Switch 2 was released, and it’s been a fantastic year for games that really showcase what the updated hardware can do. But there’s always more on the horizon! June promises a ton of exciting new releases, including both sequels in popular series and completely original games.

Seriously, it feels like just yesterday I picked up the original Switch when it first came out. I’ve always loved it – it’s just so comfortable to play, and the games have been amazing! It’s kept me hooked for years, and honestly, it’s awesome to see that continue with all the new releases coming out. There really is something for everyone now, no matter what kind of games you’re into.

1. Star Fox

The Long-Awaited Return

Details:

  • Price: $49.99 ($59.99 physical)
  • Release Date: 25th June 2026
  • Full remake of Starfox 64

This June, Nintendo is bringing back Star Fox with a new game that emphasizes exciting, movie-style space battles. Players will experience missions with multiple paths and fight large-scale battles across planets. While the series has been quiet for the last ten years – the last game, Zero, came out on the Wii U – dedicated fans have still been eager to return to the world of this clever pilot who once defined the rail-shooter genre.

Like a lot of people, I was surprised by the new, more detailed look of the game, bringing Fox and his friends to life in a whole new way. But even with all these changes, hearing Fox’s voice still gets me really excited. Whether you’re looking forward to bigger battles, more immersive levels, or just playing as Fox again, I’m confident you’ll be hooked when the game releases in June.

2. eFootball Kick-Off!

Your Favorite Team In The Palm Of Your Hands

Details:

  • Price: $19.99
  • Release Date: 3rd June 2026
  • Both solo and multiplayer modes for all styles of play

Football games have been a staple on gaming consoles for decades, and PES was once a leading title. Now known as eFootball, the game is coming to the Switch 2 with improved graphics and more ways to play online, appealing to both longtime fans and new players.

The biggest improvement in this new version is the variety of ways to play. You can now build your own team and compete against players worldwide, or challenge friends in fast-paced 6v6 matches with plenty of scoring opportunities. As someone who enjoys playing football games with friends, I’m excited about being able to do that on the go with the Switch 2 and plan to buy it to start my journey to become the best.

3. The Adventures Of Elliot: The Millennium Tales

A Brand New RPG Adventure

Details:

  • Price: $59.99
  • Release Date: June 18th 2026
  • Beautiful HD-2D real-time combat

Role-playing games have become increasingly popular recently, and a new exciting adventure is on the horizon. The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales features a beautiful, modern visual style while swapping traditional turn-based battles for fast-paced, real-time combat. Despite these changes, it still captures the spirit and nostalgia of classic RPGs.

The game focuses on a single main character, letting you fully experience the story through their eyes, rather than switching between multiple protagonists. I’ve really grown to love these HD-2D games, and I’m eager to see what this new title offers – Square Enix usually delivers high-quality experiences.

4. Unrailed 2: Back on Track

Bringing Back A Couch Co-op Icon

Details:

  • Price: $19.99
  • Release Date: 11th June 2026
  • Procedurally generated madness with plenty of replay value

Unrailed 2: Back on Track builds on the original game’s teamwork-focused survival gameplay. It features bigger, more detailed levels and more complex ways to manage resources, which will really challenge your friendships! Players have to quickly construct and repair train tracks while dealing with random disasters, dangerous environments, and tough boss battles that could derail even the best-laid plans.

I had a blast playing the first game, and it was perfect for casual get-togethers with friends and family, even those who don’t usually play video games. Now, with a complete level editor and tons of new challenges, I can’t wait to jump in and start a new adventure!

5. Solarpunk

Taking To The Skies

Details:

  • Price: $22.99
  • Release Date: 8th June 2026
  • Cozy survival game focusing on aerial exploration

Solarpunk offers a fresh take on survival games, focusing on hope and beauty instead of constant struggle. Instead of desperately gathering resources, you’ll build colorful, thriving systems powered by renewable energy. The game lets you explore a floating world not to simply survive, but to experience the joy of weightless freedom.

I was immediately drawn to this game because of its beautiful look and the freedom it offers. You can build a huge base or just wander around and explore – and I plan to do both! I’m excited to travel the world without any specific goals, then return to admire everything I’ve built as the sun comes up.

6. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

The Next Step In The Saga

Details:

  • Price: $49.99
  • Release Date: 3rd June 2026
  • Faithful yet new direction from the original

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a major RPG title, and its upcoming release on the Switch 2 will allow even more players to enjoy the game’s continuing story. The new system’s improved power is particularly exciting, as the game features vast and detailed environments that will now deliver the immersive fantasy experience fans are hoping for.

The graphics are stunning, and as someone new to the Final Fantasy world, I’m thrilled to experience this incredible story in such a cinematic way, just like many players who didn’t get to play the original game when it first came out. This version beautifully retells Cloud’s classic adventure and serves as the penultimate chapter before the complete story is finished in a few years.
