In the anime titled “Boruto“, it’s only logical for spectators to anticipate that Sarada Uchiha, being Sasuke Uchiha’s daughter, would turn out to be a top-notch ninja. With Sakura Haruno’s traits embedded in her too, Sarada not only matches her father’s abilities but also reflects her mother’s diligence. This makes her an ideal commander for their Team 7, with Boruto, who possesses a determined spirit, serving as her trusted ally.
As a hopeful Hokage, Sarada stands in stark contrast to Boruto, who shows no interest in the position. Instead, Sarada is steadily advancing, demonstrating exceptional skills as a ninja and accomplishing feats that even Sasuke hadn’t achieved when they were both of the same age.
8. Chunin Promotion
Sasuke Was A Missing-Nin Around This Time
Though shinobi ranks might not carry significant weight when comparing the power levels of Naruto’s primary characters, they hold great importance for those aiming to become Kage. Aspiring individuals must work their way through the ranks from Chunin, Jonin, and even Tokubetsu Jonin before reaching a level of power comparable to that position. In the Boruto era, Sasuke being referred to as Sasuke-Kage might have been more about tradition or protocol than an accurate representation of what he had achieved given his past.
During Part 2, Sasuke switched allegiances to Orochimaru and had never progressed beyond the Genin rank at that point. In contrast, Sarada was promoted to Chunin following the reinstatement of the exams after the Momoshiki Arc, which means a significant portion of Sasuke’s youth saw Sarada holding a higher ranking than him due to her promotions.
7. Physical Prowess
Inherited Sakura’s Strength
In the original series, it’s clear that Sasuke is quite skilled in both Taijutsu and Ninjutsu during Part 1. However, Sarada should not be underestimated either. Thanks to early exposure and extensive training with the Sharingan, Sasuke can execute remarkable techniques, like mimicking Lee’s moves and later applying them in battles, such as his fight against Gaara.
In terms of Sarada, visualize a blend of the Uchiha bloodline’s mastery over chakra with Sakura’s physical power. Although Sarada may not possess the same raw strength as Sakura, she was tutored to manage and release an optimal amount of chakra, resulting in powerful strikes that can create craters in the ground and even leave dents in fortified areas like Deepa’s carbon defense, which techniques such as Mitsuki’s Sage Mode and Shinki’s Iron Sand were unable to penetrate.
6. Multiple Nature Transformations
Not Just A Fire Specialist
As part of the Uchiha clan, Sarada and Sasuke exhibit a natural aptitude towards Fire Release, which they utilize in skills such as the Great Fireball and Phoenix Sage Fire. Additionally, they both excel in the use of the Chidori, demonstrating an affinity for Lightning Release.
Interestingly enough, while Sasuke’s affinity expands to all Nature Transformations upon gaining the Rinnegan, it seems his innate aptitude is limited to Fire and Lightning. On the other hand, Sarada showcases an additional inclination towards Wind Release and Yin Release techniques – abilities that enable her to unleash Wind Release: Gale Palm and even healing methods.
5. Medical Ninjutsu
Learning How To Heal From The Best
From where I stand, it certainly feels destined that Sarada would follow in her mother’s footsteps, mastering the art of Medical Ninjutsu. Given Sakura’s exceptional standing as one of the rare masters of this craft, trained under the legendary Sannin Tsunade – the world’s greatest Medical Nin – it appears a natural choice for Sarada to carry on that tradition.
Initially finding the skill challenging, Sarada eventually mastered Medical Ninjutsu abilities like reviving a person’s heart function, thanks to Sakura’s tutelage. Unlike Sarada, Sasuke lacks proficiency in these techniques, which might stem from Sarada’s link to Yin Release – an ability Sasuke doesn’t possess.
4. Third Tomoe Activation
A Faster Sharingan Master In Her Youth
Before the intense excitement over Mangekyo Sharingan in Naruto Shippuden started, Sasuke activating his Sharingan’s Third Tomoe stood out as a significant moment in Part 1 of the original series. This activation granted Sasuke extraordinary visual abilities that he used against Naruto during their battle at the Valley of the End, when Naruto had already tapped into his Nine-Tails Chakra. Surprisingly, Sarada didn’t take as long to awaken her own Third Tomoe.
In the initial stages of the Boruto series, during the Chunin Exams, Sarada first utilized her Second Tomoe. Later, during the Kara Arc, she unleashed her Third Tomoe – a highly anticipated move that allowed her to combine her newfound visual abilities with the Chidori, swiftly defeating Boro. This sets Sarada apart as an exceptionally rapid learner in the realm of shinobi, surpassing even Sasuke, who was already recognized for his prodigious skills during his time.
3. Chidori Mastery
Learned The Chidori Faster Than Sasuke
In their Genin years, both Sarada and Sasuke mastered the Chidori technique. However, it’s Sarada who demonstrated a knack for wielding it effectively. This might be due to the fact that her instructor is none other than her father, whose understanding of the Sharingan’s intricacies enabled him to guide Sarada in merging the Sharingan’s sharp vision with the concentration required to accurately aim and direct the Chidori towards a specific target. As a result, Sarada was able to first use the Chidori in battle against Boro, managing to strike him with the help of her Three Tomoe.
While Sasuke’s instructor, Kakashi Hatake, was the creator of the Chidori, a move designed to mimic the Rasengan but with a deadly lightning element. Although Kakashi could manage it using his Sharingan, his non-Uchiha background limited his innate skill with the Sharingan, causing Sasuke to learn to control the technique independently. In contrast to Sarada, Sasuke struggled considerably to master the technique during Part 1, often needing the help of the Cursed Mark to use it effectively against Naruto at the Valley of the End.
2. Omnipotence Immunity
Saw Through Kawaki’s Illusion
A distinctive feature that sets Sarada apart from Sasuke is her resistance to an all-powerful force, a trait she shares with Sumire Kakei. This allows her to discern the authentic history of Konoha, where Boruto is recognized as Naruto’s true son, not Kawaki.
It’s unclear why Sarada is resistant to that specific ability, given her Mangekyo Sharingan. This is quite remarkable since Sasuke himself wasn’t immune. The only reason Sasuke agreed to aid Boruto and rejoin the rogue ninja ranks for a second time was due to Sarada’s activation of the Mangekyo Sharingan at the prospect of Boruto being harmed – something that deeply affected him.
1. Advanced Mangekyo Sharingan Opening
For Her Fear Of Losing Boruto
One noteworthy achievement of Sarada in Boruto is the premature awakening of her Mangekyo Sharingan, a feat she managed under the pressure of Konoha potentially retaliating against Boruto when his life was linked with Kawaki through the power of Omnipotence.
In the forthcoming chapters, we’ll probably uncover more about Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan. However, the act of activating it is already a remarkable accomplishment. Unlike Sasuke who activated his in Part 2 following Itachi Uchiha’s demise, primarily driven by grief, Sarada seems to have unlocked hers out of love and affection towards Boruto.
